looks great! upon closer inspection, some things bug me though:

-i like the idea on the sword, but i dont think it worked out too well

-what's goin on with his helmet? the camo pattern is throwin me off a bit, i'd rather it just be highlighted like the rest of the blue armor parts

hey you know what, i think this model would look absolutely amazing if you were to apply some thin layers of really wattered down "middle-ground" paint to a lot of the areas- like on the blue armor, take the color that is half way between the darkest and lightest parts of it, water it down to like a 15%paint/85%water ratio, and apply a "wash" (though i wouldnt suggest inks, as they get into crevices and make them too dark IMO) to smooth things out and create more subtle yet striking transitions... in fact, i think this process would do wonders for that sword!

sorry if i sound a bit too critical; i see a *LOT* of potential in this model, but it doesn't look quite finished yet :|

Not bad overall, personally i would have liked to have seen the sword hilt/handle in the same bone colour and maybe without the shield on the head too.

The pose seems a little weird too, like hes leaning back or something.

No need to apologize. How am I supposed to improve myself if I get offended at every criticism?

I think I'll have to revisit this model, using washes like you mentioned to really make the fade effects nicer. And I think you're right about the sword not exactly working out too well. is it just the fade effect like on the blue armor? ... or is something else needed? maybe a small amount of green near the tip, or would that be overdoing it?

As far as the camo pattern, that's actually the part that I really really liked. I tend to try and use a blue camo pattern on most of the vehicles for Alaitoc, and thought this would be a good place for it. Does it really seem too much?

I like the head, but I'm not diggin' the sword. It's a good idea but powerweapons are hard to make look right. The symbols on his cloak look pretty good and the highlights are very nice.

I rather like how the sword looks myself.

The camo pattern ont he head looks like by itself, but having it just on the head doesn't mesh well. I'd go all or nothing with it.

Oh, and you put the guns in the wrong place.

to improve the sword, i suggest you take that green, really water it down, and apply at least 3 coats of thin washes against the sword, thinning it out as you get to the middle/upper-half (make sure you let it dry between each wash), and i'd take watered down bleach bone and bring down the brightness of that white on the top of the sword- the problem with the white is, it looks way too artificial because we see white nowhere else on the model (pure white, that is).

the helmet camo pattern is lovely, don't get me wrong. but it does not fit... at first it looks like a highlight on the helmet, but then as you get closer it looks less and less like highlights and starts to get confusing to the eyes until you get up close enough to understand that it's a camo pattern. perhaps if you go and smooth out the transitions via washes on the armor it will help to alleviate this problem, but really it has to do with the color choice you went with on the camo- almost the same as what you used to highlight the armor. i would suggest introducing some different colors at least mildly into the camo pattern if you wish to stay with it, maybe something like small sporadic dots of yellow, or, now that i think about it, some yellow lettering like that on his hip all over the helmet would look pretty radical... okok im getting ahead of myself ^^:;

one more suggestion- do more work on that base! give it some gravel, or some grass, or some debree, or at least some drybrushing ^^

I assure you, the base is hardly done. The gray paint is just a placeholder until I finally figure out how I want to theme the bases for my Eldar army. Once I get that in my noggin, I'll be redoing it.

I initially had it up on a shoulder, but it really didn't look as dynamic as aimed from the back of an arm.

Lots of really good suggestions, guys. Thanks for all the advice. I'll post some more pics of him when I get around to implementing some of the methods mentioned.
