Foundry Paints are NOT Coat D' Arms paints. They were designed with Kevin Dallimore to be a 3 step paint system , as featured in the Foundry painting book and are completely their own entity. They tend to be fairly thick and get great coverage. The bottles are also a good size, so you get a lot of paint. I don't have a lot of them, but I am a big fan of the flesh colors, as well as some of the horse combinations. I'm tempted to use even more of them.
If I had to place my paints in favorite order, it would be probably be
Vallejo Model Color
Foundry
Vallejo Game Color and GW about even.
Again, sometimes it comes down to color sets. In GW I always use the Bleached Bone, some of the greens. In Vallejo I like the military oriented colors, the greys, the ivory, the dark german camo brown, etc. In foundry, I have considered getting the leather set, the phlegm green set, and a few others.
Another thing I noticed- not sure if it's good or bad, but the foundry colors I use tend to dry quickly. Sometimes if I am painting a larger unit I end up adding a little Vallejo Slow Dry so they stay wet on the pallet. If you use a wet pallet, then it doesn't really matter, i guess. I would order a few sets on the warstore and try them out.
