My room mate is building a chaos army and is in love with the slaaneshi lot; especially Lucius and the daemonettes. So she still likes her groups of six even if there are no bonus champions and whatnot, and intends to model faces all over the defilers with a pink paint job. What do you chaps make of the following:

Lucius the Eternal
Depending on mood either: Steed of slaanesh sorcerer or daemon prince with wings; both with lash of slaanesh. both cost the same; both let her use the worm mount from the slaanesh lord from WHFantasy
Greater Daemon
6 slaanesh termis: 4 combi plas, 1 chainfist, 1 HF, 1 pair LC (tentacles instead of tusks)
6 slaanesh raptors: 2 melta, 1 twin lightning claws (yay for init)
2 Defilers (likes her spider mechs a lot)
6 slaanesh bikers: 2 meltas, 1 power weapon on champ (becfause bikes are sexy)
2 X 6 noise marines: 6 blasters + doom siren: rhino
2 X 6 lesser daemons (she likes her daemonette models)

Icons are on termi's, raptors and bikes (as well as both HQ) for summoning. What is drastically missing/to be improved, or how could she better go about slaanesh and still include the models she wants?

Our local GW are of the opinion she can use the mounted daemonettes and previous daemonettes; doesn't effect the list as is, but when playing with them; the raptors would be dropped for 6 mounted daemonettes; and the excess points into the two groups of lesser daemons being normal daemonettes.

First go at this, be harsh

It's a fluffy army for a fluff fanatic.

Sadly with the nerf to fluff power in the current Chaos codex, you can't both have your fluff and eat your power army cake anymore.

Looks great for a fluff army.

Will do fine for casual play.

Hardcore armies will grind it up and spit it out, unfortunately.

As such: do you have any recommendos in adjustments that can be made whilst sticking to our happy 6-12?

Not really. Within the corner you've painted yourself, it's about as good as it gets. Really, it's fine as is.

Any real changes would just move it from fluff to power.

Do you feel there could be space made for long range anti tank, ie; throwing an oblit team in for striking with the termi's or hiding with the defilers, or is it suitable relying on the melta presence and the 1/2 monsterous creatures?

I'd always bring oblits, but you're so lacking in heavy anti-tank fire that bringing them in a list like this is a liability...you'll depend on them, and then they'll get shot off the board.

I'd say drop the daemons, just because they aren't marked or devoted to any one god, you could pick up some raptors or something else like oblits as mentioned above

Is this as they'd be the only ranged anti tank as opposed to groups with melta; or that there is no suitable anti tank presence at all? Would would be a good direction to aim at, if a unit of oblits aren't the answer?

Preds or demon possessed land raiders.

They are quite subpar in comparison to be honest.

hey you never know, in order to shift the new deamon models, the new book might cheese up the deamons a bit , well, it wont...cos tht would be a good thing to do....and would increase gw sales....so they wont to that...fooools...

oh btw, how much nicer are the old deamonette models than the new!

you could always just take a havok squad...(i really dont see why oblits are better than havoks, if someone could explain,id be gratefull cheers)

The main reason is that oblits can start behind cover, move and then shoot. they almost always get first shot. Also they have the right weapon for the job, no matter what curve balls your enemy brings to the table.

yes the oblits make a more flexible unit, and are actually very survivable (except against lascannons but then nothing really is to them). they also get deepstrike if your really bold, and want to try that out, but few rarely do such a thing. they become a scary little packet of death where the enemy may concentrate fire on them vs. other prime targets, or they may be ignored and become a pain in your opponents arse. either way they have a slight edge over the havocs, whcih can be quite expensive with 3 lascannons and 5 guys, and slightly less survivable

Did I read that right, your group is allowing you to use the old daemons? With rending and all?

Then I'd say two lash princes, two squads of infiltrating chosen with icons, a few noisemarine squads with blastmasters and a million daemonettes. Score!
