Strikes me that they mostly look like a bunch of crazy marines fondling their weapons ... ... but I think it works just fine, and nice bitz hacking to acheive the rocker-ish poses. The first guy popping the horns and wearing the knight healm is particularly metal - Salvage

I love the last one. Looks like he's screaming away during an awesome solo!
As to making them look less like they are just holding their weapons, how about some guitar string linking the weapons to the backpack?

I like em. I was worried they'd have guns and not guitars, but you stuck to it.

I think drummers are a great idea, but I am one, so I have a bit of a bias.
You should have one with just a couple crash cymbals, that would probably be pretty easy to do, too.
So far I think these look great. I also especially like the first and the last one. I think one thing that would add a lot to these conversions would be to add some actual "strings" to their instruments/weapons.
One way you might do this would be to take a small broom with nylon bristles, and cut some of the individual bristles off, and glue them to the neck and body of the instrument. I've used these for antennas on 15mm tanks, so it should be just the right size to use two or three strings on these heroic 28mm weapons, and I think they will add even more character to these.
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Keep in mind this tank is 15mm.
Them more I think of this, the more I'm tempted to pick up a box of noise marines just to do some rockin' conversions. Very cool!

love the axe/guitar concept, so obvious in hindsight but i've never seen it before. nice posing too.
I think the weapons need a little more work to make them more clearly 'axe-shaped mutated-guitar shooty weapons' as opposed to just oddly held close combat weapons. Some sort of gun barrel / demonic mouth / death-ray emitter thingy at the shooty end? And some sort of 'strings' down the guitar necks - maybe some _very_ finely corrogated plasticard (about .5mm corrogations, if available?) would give that impression, with a 2mm wide bit looking like 4 'strings' if you see what I mean

Another thing I just thought of that you could try for "strings" down the neck would be very thin brass rod. I'm pretty sure you can find it in sizes thin enough to work for this.

nice! I was thinking myself how to convert some noise marines I think I am outclassed here. I think I will borrow some ideas like the warp amp backpack.
and you definately need a blastmaster drummer set XD.

Dude, a mobile main stage. That is like the king of good ideas.
You could count it as a Land Raider or Defiler or something.
You should make a little hidden spot where you could hide an iPod and a little speaker or something, so it can play music! Aww man....You have to go all the way with this dude! Rock!
As for lights, you might be able to find some ideas in this thread.

which is perfect for a slaaneshi army. the only way to make it better would be to incorporate the sonic weapons/guitars into part of the slaaneshi anatomy. but then you really start getting risque.. (nothing wrong with it really, but kids certainly turn their heads that way..)

@2heads; haha, yeah that would be pretty awesome tbh the risque-ness wouldnt bother me, most people i know at my local gw would just think thats was pretty funny and cool, hmm...banebade mainstage or land raider.....hmm....well a land raider is £35 and a baneblade is £60 if i remember correctly
