I dont know how this is gonna work, but I have an Idea (Which is ussualy bad) I wanna take the Grotz we all know and love and give one a big sniper rifle, but I think being grotz it would prove to hard to use with out another one to help steady it. Enter my rough (Very Rough) Idea.

I dont have the models yet so I was forced to hi-jack GW Pics'. This i my first conversion Idea (If you can call it that) I will be buying what I need hopfully this weekend, along with some paint so.... Well yeah lets see how it go's pics' this weekend and mabye I can pick up some Pointers.

Throw enough Goblins at anything and it should go away, at the very least there will be less Goblins.

For a possible all-grot counts-as Ork army, I'd strongly considered the idea of a grot holding a shoota at the trigger end, while another grot on the same base carries the shoota's weight on his shoulder - together they'd count as one normal shoota boy.

A sniper rifle would work just as well - but is this just a conversion idea or will it count as something in a game, and if so, what?

Personally I'm waiting to see whether plastic grots are a reality later this year or merely rumour - this would be much easier to do in plastic. You could of course try doing it with WHFB goblins...

Yeah, its just an Idea so I can try my hand at basic conversions. Although I love the Bolter Idea too!

I think its a great idea, but I don't like the choice of sniper rifle, as it doesn't feel very Orky to me.

IMHO, it should look much more like an Empire longrifle or a skaven jezzail.

maybe you could scratch build a large blunderbuss (larger than the one in your picture) type rifle w/a big set of cross hairs or a clunky scope? or go to the extreme have a few grots carrying a napoleon era cannon on their backs.

I've actually seen almost this idea (sans helper grot tripod) where the barrel of his existing gun was simply extended with smaller radius tubing. It helped carry the "sniper" feel whilst retaining orky character. I'll try to dredge up a link...

This thread. About halfway down, it's an idea to consider

(edit) Looks like he filed down the blunderbuss muzzle, and added a scope in addition to barrel length.
