The Norse gods are actually pretty cool looking. I checked out their site, and they really have a good selection of miniatures, though their sci-fi leaves something to be desired.

Great find!

Yeah I'd seen their stuff before and the John Carter type martians are certainly tempting.

TTGN had the info about the new stuff though.

I have actually ordered from bronze age minis and they are very good. I needed a model for a d&d game. I ended up calling the guy and we talked about what I was looking for and he worked it into a new sculpt in his line. They are the barbarian with the really long moustache.

I'd forgotten where to get those Martians. Thanks for the link Kyoto-san.

Funny how that page is full of nekkid chicks but they won't spell out the word 'hell'.

I keep saying I'm going to get those 'Wasteland Mutants' (i.e. green martians). Sigh.

Don't forget! There's TWO sets of ill-proportioned nudies for you to feverishly paint when mom and dad aren't riding your case about moving out/finding a job/getting a girlfriend:

Truth be told, I'm thinking of converting these into daemonettes in order to have them writhing around the base of my Keeper of Secrets when she's finished.

And now, back to the Martians:

Talk about a labor of love! For a teeny tiny niche market, these sure are some great sculpts!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

That's pretty damn cool. I happened to just finish rereading the whole series again. I had no idea there were any minis for them.

I like the warrior women. Perhaps I should get a few, slap a few plasma or shuki pistols on them and use them as howling banshees.

The "writhing around the keeper of secrets" idea is a really good one actually. I was having a hard time coming up with a use for them besides the "Cabinet of Secret Shame", but that is actually a functional reason to buy them.

Otherwise, unless someone comes up with Codex: Studio 54 or Warhammer Armies: Opium Den, I am at a loss as to how so many companies manage to justify producing "nekkid girl lounging 352". Not that I am complaining, but nekkid with a bolter would seem to sell better.

I seem to recall that one of the guys in the GW design studio had an all-nude Blood Bowl team.

Those girls look weird to me. Their proportions are off. The Martians, on the other hand, are gorgeous!

Have they released a big collected edition of John Carter stories like the Conan ones? I've never read them, but really want to.

Shadowforge minis does several teams of girlie figs for Blood Bowl. You can get them in the US from the Warstore, too.

The John Carter books are all novels, as opposed to short stories. They’re pretty short, and very quick reads. The first three are a trilogy centered on JC himself as he arrives on Mars and earns his place, but the others are all standalone. The first 5 are pretty great. The next 3 or 4 are all pretty good, if you like pulp adventure stories. The 11th (John Carter of Mars ) is utter crap.
