After several years with an all foot slogging Ork army I have decided its time to give the poor boyz shoe leather and rest. Starting to look at conversions for ork battlewagons. What I want is to be able to mount 4 or 5 of my boyzs squads for games up Apoc and some general all around go fast fun. My problem though is a shear lack of inspiration for the Wagons though. After 3 aborted attempts at the first wagon I just can't seem to come up with something I like.

Any ideas or pictures of your creations you can share would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I friend of mine build a pair that looked like tracked amphibious landing vehicles with a ramp on the front and some towers with guns. Sorry no pics though.

I have been leaning towards a WWII american M3 halftrack for a possible conversion, but a landing craft could be possible will have to give them a look.

I used the front of the old 2nd ed battlewagon (really more of a big truck than what we'd currently call a battlewagon) attached to a plasticard box with the old 2nd ed land raider track assembly, for a 'covered half-track' look.

I've also made one from the new Land Raider, which is what most people do.

Was very tempted to convert a baneblade into a battlewagon - some people think it's a bit too big, but wouldn't be difficult to 'shrink' it, representing a mekboy fix-up of a wrecked baneblade.

Word on the street is that GW really will release a modular plastic battlewagon later this year, so personally I wouldn't start my own conversion until I see what's in that.

I have a landraider that is half assembled along with a new whirlwind and a Predator that came from a box of bits I bought. I also have what appears to be 2 leman Russes that i need to sort the sprue parts out for. Really want something that is different from the standard hence the not going the new Landraider path. For the same reason I don't think I would use GW kit Wagon even when it comes out.

Currently I am trying to mate a set of Russ track assemblies with a new wartrukk. Its coming out a bit short looking. I am going to have to add something to go behind the cab before the tracks start.

I had not considered a Baneblade thinking that it was to large but now that I think about it could do with some cutting down to make it fit.
