I'm in search of my next army and Demons have caught my eye. Of course everything is on hold until I down the 5th, I mean read the 5th while drinking a 5th. I understand the basics of the changing rules, but actually playtesting with them is another thing. Everyone around here is expecting over-competitive players to abuse the "I'm not sure you have a majority, I want a 5+ cover save" situation, but Demons get than anyway.

I'm looking for a decent list that has a chance against all comers.

HQ - Bloodthirster, Blessing

HQ - Hearld of Slaanesh, Mount, Musk

HQ - Herald of Tzeentch, Disc, Master, Breath of Chaos

Elite - Bloodcrusher x4, Icon of Chaos

Elite - Fiends of Slaanesh x5

Elite - Flamers x3

Troop - Bloodletters x8

Troop - Bloodletters x8

Troop - Demonettes x9

Troop - Demonettes x8

Troop - Pink Horrors x9, Changeling, Icon of Chaos

Fast - Hound of Khorne x9, Fury

Fast - Seekers of Slaanesh x5

Fast - Screamers x4

I'm hoping that the Rending and flying melta-bombs will help with vehicles. Mech Tau and Falcon Eldar are very popular in my area. I know 5th will change that, but I still want to be ready for vehicles.

I'm not a fan of the Demon Heavies. Soul Grinders are cute and all, but I just don't want to put that many points into something that can go boom to a single lascannon. I lost too many Monoliths in my Necron days so I tend to lean towards the multi-would guys that can't be nuked from any single shot. Demon Princes? I like the idea of taking 3, but when you look at the points, Bloodcrushers give you more Attacks, the same Wounds, and come with Iron Hide for the same Base Points. Yes, you can load them up with Flight and other goodies, and they are MC instead of power attacks, but I'd just rather have more Attacks and Wounds for the same points.

Why no Nurgle? Gods those models are ugly! I know they can take quite a beating, but I'll take more Khorne before I go with them.

I don't want to make the list too full of but then with the Deep Striking I doubt they will be consistent enough to cause much heartache.

I'd take a KoS instead of the Heralds.
Three Fiends should be enough. This frees some points to increase the size of the troops (Daemonettes).
I'd add another Seeker by dropping one Bloodhound.

Split the unit of horrors up into two.

What's the herald of tzeentch do?

It's not bad overall, it's got a bunch of units which I always approve of.

I guess there's a small issue with splitting between shooting and assault...without any serious anti-tank on the shooting side.

There's also only one MC in the list. So he'll get dropped as soon as he drops.

All MC, or no MC. It's a good rule.

I thought about going with 2 greater demons, but wanted to see what 3 HQs for the 3 demon types looked like. Going for a bit of fluff I guess. Having a Keeper of Secrets to go with the Bloodthirster was the other option. Good point about all MC or none. Herald of Tzeentch was supposed to get either Bolt or Breath to help with vehicles. Originally had an Icon on him, but figured the Bloodcrushers and Horrors were more survivable.

The Horrors can stay or go, but I thought they were a good unit to have an Icon.

Bolts of Tz are too expensive for me to field everywhere, plus on BS 3 guys isn't my favorite. I'm considering a second unit of Screamers to deal with vehicles, but Seekers and Hounds have the mobility I want.
