I'm a bit confused as to how deployment works now. My friends and i play 3rd ed rules where you roll off choose to go first then put your models down in order of heavy, troop, fast attack, elite, HQ both players taking turns. Deploy my heavy, they deploy their heavy so your able to strategically place each unit. Now it's roll high choose to go first, deploy your entire army first go first (unless your opponent does "SEIZE THE INITIATIVE!") right? I seem to like the old 3rd ed deployment a bit better.

After serving in a 'big gunz' regiment Grots often loose their hearing and have to resort to a rudimentary system of sign language. This is rarely successful as there are only so many signs a Grot can carry.

Both systems have their pro's and cons. I prefer the new way as you know who is going first and you can set up accordingly. Unless you roll take the initiative.

I will never go back to the old deployment method. The new one is better from a strategy point of view, in that you have a good idea of who will go first and from a fun point of view as it gets you into the action MUCH quicker.

I played in an RTT once where my opponent took 35 minutes just to get through the initial deployment. I would go, then he would think about it and look all over the table for just the perfect place to put his next selection, then I would go then same from him. I was so angry by turn 1, he did not have a fun game against me.

Yeah, unfortunately, I am that person.... it takes me forever to set up, keep trying to find the 'perfect' set up. Stupid....
I try and get faster at it... I am glad it changed, it is easier for me this way.
