On the DUST Tactics page, there's a teaser for an upcoming show in Tokyo.

A Pz.Kgl. Luther Mech Walker.
AND...
1:35 Scale Resin Kit
1:48 Scale Plastic Kit
Whoa!
So, not only pre-painted stuff for DUST?
The 1:35th pre-painted stuff for the actual game (using the AT-43 rule set) and the 1:48th plastic kit for, well, whatever?
I'm excited about this line for use in other Weird War II gaming, so this could make it even nicer!
Anyone know the scoop?
Thanks!

So, no 1:48 scale plastic kits then?
Argh!
Still, if it is similar in scale to AT-43 stuff, the walkers will be OK in a Weird War II 1:48 setting, I think.

No scoop at all. There have been 1:35 scale Dust kits available for years.

Guess I'm just catching up then!
So, any news on when DUST Tactics might actually see the light of day?

Wait for the end of the year.
1:48 is still larger than Dust Tactics.

Are you sure you mean larger?
(Though I'm sure I could be confused too! )
I thought AT-43 was in that 28mm (Heroic) 30mm scale.
Isn't DUST going to be something similar?

I thought AT-43 was in that 1:28 (Heroic) to 1:35 scale.
Isn't DUST going to be something similar?
Heroic scale is 28mm size (as in: bigger than traditional 25mm wargaming size) and not 1:28 scale as far as I know. One is size and the other is scale even thought the term scale gets mixed up in both.

1:28 and 1:35 are somwhere around 100mm.
1:87 is somwhere around 30mm.
You should rent a gym if you want to play 1:28.

Oops!
I know this already. (I mistakenly put "1:28" in an earlier message - my bad!)
"Heroic" 28mm scale roughly translates to 1:48 model scale.
SO, when Duncan Idaho says that 1:48 scale is still LARGER than Dust Tactics, that's where I get a bit confused.
So, again, mistakes and typos aside, since 28mm is roughly equivalent to 1:48 scale, is DUST Tactics going to be SMALLER than 1:48 scale? Really?
Actually, here's an even easier way to phrase the question:
Is DUST Tactics going to be the same scale/size as AT-43?

Sigh....
180 cm / 32mm is roughly 1:56 which would be Rackham
180 cm/ 28mm is 1:64 which would be GW soldiers
Since sizes for GW vehicles have been not to scale we had something between 1:87 and 1:64.
My mistake, AT ist not 1:87 but 1:56, had the old GW minis in mind.
Dust is still 1:51 according to the above calculations. So 1:48 might fit sometimes, but might seem out of place other times

1:48 works for WW2. I use it with Artizan figures and it looks good. A Tamiya 1:48 solider is the same height as on of my metal troopers but slimmer. 1:48 Dust models sounds good to me. -K

Well, that finally answers that!
And really, GW vehicle scales are all out of whack, as our their figures. They have drifted quite a bit from 28mm.
1:64 scale vehicles would not look good next to them.
1:48 do, and 1:35 make good "super-heavy" sized vehicles.
In my experience.
