So this is my first stab at a 2k point Dark Angels list. I was going for a multi-wing force with plenty of troops and plenty of staying power so taking Belial and Termie troops seemed like the way to go. Pretty much everything is shooting oriented, except for the Ravenwing squad with a powerfist and melta which I plan on using to outflank and get into my opponent's backfield to deal with pesky tanks. All my heavy weapons are missile launchers because I want this to be an all comers list and the frag/krak option seems to be equally good against MEQs or hordes.

Comments and criticism appreciated.

The main problem I see is that your Squads are painfully small. It won't take much shooting before you'll have to start peeling off your expensive little toys, especially at this points level. Also, missile launchers are all well and good, but they won't be able to scratch AV14 vehicles. You'll have to rely on your Assault Cannons for that.

The biggest points sink would seem to be the Devs. The first wound you take, you'll have to lose a 30+ points MEQ model. In my opinion, you don't need the Devs... you could buy two bare-bones ML squads, which I think would serve you well.

I reiterate, the units are painfully small, with the largest one being what... 5 models? 6 if you attach Belial? Come now. This is 2k. Be rational. (not to sound overtly critical)

Catch me if you can.

Exactly, aside from the Ravenwing everything I have is maximum squad size.

As for AV14, I don't see that a whole lot in my gaming group and I think I could bring the pain to everything else in his army while I wait for the Ravenwing with the powerfist and melta to show up on the outflank to run train on his backfield.

I would drop the extra amor on the Whirlwind and give Venerable to the Dread. It can use the upgrade a lot more than the Whirlie. You can also drop the power weapon on the Dev Sgt as it will never get used and upgrade one of the other power weapons to a powerfist (the other 5 points you can use for the Dread upgrade).

All in all, it looks like a fun list. Termies seem to have gotten a lot stronger with the new edition so having them as troops will be pretty powerful. This won't compete with the top lists out there but should be pretty competitive as long as you play it tight.
