I'm putting together an 1850pt Khorne list and I'm looking for advice. The army is mainly going to be playing against other CSM and SM armies.

Right now my basic thoughts for the list are a slimed down HQ, 5 8x squads of zerks, 1 big squad of CSM, and 3 pred tanks

Any advice would be great!

Looks quite good. Mount the Berzerkers into Rhinos and leave the Predators able to give fire support.
The HQ is debatable. The best choice are two winged DPs as Lords can be instantly killed. But DPs are too large to hide completely behind Rhino pattern tanks.

If you really want a Khorne army, then Kharn is the way to go. He is amazing in close combat and his fluff is super cool. 3 preds are probably a good idea for anti tank, but if you are running lots of berzerkers, you need LOTS of them to get the job done. I wouldnt take the CSM, but instead take more berzerkers.

I've kicked around going with the twin winged DP but the price is kind of steep and they draw a lot of fire. The guys I will be playing against are going to have low model count armies so I was thinking of taking a low point lord with BP and PW just to save points towards more guys

Cheap lords are always on option, but Kharn is well worth his points. taking kharn over a cheap lord only spares enough points to take 3 more berzerkers. Just consider that.

I've never given much thought into Kharn, I guess I'm so used to the ole days of having to agree to use special characters, You seem pretty sold on Kharn so I'll give him a go in a few test games and I'll see how he does

mount kharn in rhino with 9 beserkers and hes incredibley scary with 2d rolls for armour pentration furious charge 5 str and always hits and wounds on 2+ for 165 points!

Don't forget that the Summoned Greater Daemon can actually play ball and can help take fire off of DPs if they can hold out a bit.

Also, Khorne Term Champs are very choppy.

If you like russian roulette, the khorne lord in termie armor and a unit of termies is a good option. The better is probably the 2 lightning claws but the daemon blade is cheaper in terminator armor and a possibility.... Nothing like 4 base attacks plus an average of 7 attacks. OTOH, feel the joy of rolling 1's. I think we did a maelstrom of gore in an armageddon with 5 khorne lords with daemon blades... (Just for fun of course) In 3 rounds of combat we watched one eat through two units of deathwing terminators while causing about 8 wounds to ourselves. The best was watching a lord get into hand to hand with a 600+ point HQ of Wolf Guard Terminators and rolling a 6 and 1 and dying to his blade. LOL. We are talking high risk, high reward.

Rather than predators, take a look at running 3 defilers. Outfit for close combat. Gives you pie plates to drop against hoards (even berzerkers don't appreciate facing untouched ork boyz of 20 to 30.) What self-respecting khornite wants to shoot them up when you can get - what - 5 or 6 attacks in hand-to-hand to light up vehicles. Defilers can even provide cover for your berzerkers. (You want to play with 8 berzerkers next round or a defiler on a rampage?)

Another option is to go with assault weapon armed chosen. Cheaper than berzerkers and you can put up to 5 special weapons in a squad. 5 Melta guns that infiltrated or 5 flamers or 5 plasma guns. All good options that you can use infiltrate to position and provide a good firebase while your berzerkers run into assault range. To keep your theme, just need spare arms and weapons, afterall they should be dedicated to khorne so use berzerker torsos and heads.

Well of COURSE he loves Kharn... I mean, he has Zariki Kenpachi as his avatar (if you don't know who he is... Imagine Kharn with ninja skills, who is more... yes more obsessed with killing people than Kharn himself.)

I think that the Predators are a pretty good option for your army, normally they aren't such a good deal for CSM, but for this army, a powerful, cheap, but relatively defenseless anti armor will serve you in good stead.

I think it's a good list, but I would replace your big CSM squad with either more bezerkers, or a squad of obliterators to provide covering fire.
