Hey folks,
Like many people, I'm getting back into Warhammer now that 5th Edition's out. I used to play
WHFB and Necromunda, so I'm sure I don't have the finer points of cover saves and armour piercing down to a science
I picked up two
AoBR boxes, and am trying to use the Orks within as the basis for my army. This means that, while I don't have to use everything in there, you'd better believe I'm going to try to!
[
HQ] Warboss w/mega armour and cybork body (in the trukk full of Nobz; see below)

[Troop] 12 Boyz w/sluggas and choppas, 1 rokkit launcha,
PK Nob w/bosspole, trukk w/red paint and reinforced ram

1499 points, by my reckoning.
My questions are thus:
1) Am I putting too many eggs in one basket with the
WB/Nob Trukk? I probably am, but I'm hoping that the potential destructive power, as well as the fun that I'll have rolling so damn many dice, is worth it. I've tried to give them the option of going up against tanks or vehicle squadrons by giving the Nobz skorchas.
2) How am I doing for shooty/trukky ratio? I made a variant army list where I had three 20-strong shoota mobs, no Boyz in trukks, and 5 Deffcoptas, but I don't think I like it as much. One trukk just doesn't seem like enough, particularly given that one trukk contains 1/3 of my army's points!
3) I'm deathly afraid of armoured vehicles as a rule (probably beccause I remember how great T8 creatures were in
WHFB). Have I compensated adequately by kitting everything out with rokkits and
PKs, or am I now going to run into severe dakka shortage? I've tried to ensure balance by including Lootas (delightfully dakkaful) and the
SAG Mek (too much fun to not include; I don't care how many times it backfires on me).
Thanks in advance!
