Just a quick question on the newly re-released Infinity rulebook...

Is this a 'true' 2nd edition or more of a 1.5 edition?

Over on the 'official' forum (not the easiest place to navigate around, in my opinon. Plus, people LOVE to use abbreviations/acronyms over there, which makes for very confused newcomers!), it seems as if it is more of a 1.5 edition, with a 'true' 2nd edition coming...sometime?

Anyone know for sure? And if so, when?

Thanks!

It seems to be a revised 1.5 kinda rulebook. It remains to be seen if they have scenarios or some kinda campaign rules.

EDIT: From scanning the Infinity forums it looks like the majority of the changes are in the special rules and the forcelists (changing of Support Costs for certain things like hackers etc).

I was (to be honest) looking for more than that. This just looks like Prime Remixed by Privateer Press...the rulebook that should have been 1.0.

So is there a "2.0" planned for the 'near' future?

Probably not, with this book being released...

Doubt it, but like with most game companies that aren't GW, this company is probably made up of a half dozen full time employees.... so who knows what the timeline will be.

And now the rules (and only the rules, no background) are available for download at:

There's no 2.0 planned for the future This edition a revision. I think it is perfectly fine to download the .pdf material, you don't need to buy the new book if you have the old one. Also, the staff just posted in the forum a compilation of ALL the changes to the rulebook. Right now, it is kinda confusing because they are, in addition to the revised rules and revised rulebook, giving us additional material from the first expansion book. So, some people who aren't as connected see new units released, but don't see them in the "new" rulebook and only on .pdf. But don't worry, it will be more clear once the expansion is released

So as I've got the first rulebook, I only need to download the compilation of changes to bring me up to date?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

It's fully intended to be a 'revised' edition for collectors (with everyone else free to download the extra rules) and the starting edition for new players.

1st edition sold out worldwide as far as I know, so rather than be cheap and just reprint, they did a whole new one.

Corvus Belli are possibly the coolest dudes in the entire industry.

Best sci fi skirmish rules, top of the line minis and great fellows to boot
