Vallejo/Citadel.
Liquitex White Gesso, probably about an hour or so. I did two models, though, and I let one set over night and it still had the same "sticky" feeling. It felt like rubber and the paint didn't adhere to it that well, which surprised me. The first model I was conservative about slathering it in gesso, so it was a light coat and the other I blobbed it on. I didn't expect the first one to turn out so bad and to my dismay the Gesso didn't 'shrink' on the second one. So details were obscured and the hunt to find some type of paint stripper at the local Home Depot began.
My friend and I busted in there looking for the goods, I had quite a few "strippers" in mind. He, however, thought it'd be a good idea to ask someone there for one. I figured why not and the guy we ended up talking to played table top as well.. and seemed knowledgeable. I was trying to stray away from something pack full of carcinogenics, but he was adamant about the product. Assured me that it wouldn't damage plastic, he had used it himself. Well, it definitely didn't not melt it. -.-
Well,
My other friend decides he'll take my
SM's off my shoulders. Then I was torn between the choice of Tyranids and Tau, leaving the upcoming conflict to Luck/Chance/Dice Gods I rolled 1D6 and stated clearly that 1 = Tau and 6 = Tyranids. Rolled a 1, but was uneasy about Tau's capability to handle itself in close quarters. So I rolled a 1, 1, and another 1.
Not being one to incur the wrath of Chance I grabbed some Tau to head home with.
Truth is I want to collect both armies, but have heard Tau are quite one dimensional.
Flabbergasted, my day has passed me by. Still camera-less. Fabricated a mini-work station out of tissue boxes though, haha -- it will do for now ;p. If anyone has an alternative to priming via spraying(or a good brand excluding
GW's), besides gesso (or maybe I just really did a terrible job on priming, but never had a problem with it before on smaller models), or advice I'd appreciate it.
Hopefully I can get a hold of a camera soon.
