Hello, I'm Morgrim, from Perth WA. I first learnt about Warhammer about five years ago, when I used to adjudicate the three and four sided matches some of the boys at high school would have. I had a few kroot figurines I painted for personal enjoyment and also got conscripted to paint one friend's bretonian horses and another's orc army. It wasn't that long before I was making him paint the orcs (they're meant to look scrappy) and doing all the finishing and detailing work instead, because I found that more enjoyable and his army looked better overall. I once painted a lord's cloak and robes in the school tartan for a present for the deputy headmaster (who also played and who let us use the spare classroom), prompted by someone daring me to do it and someone else actually handing me the fully assembled and primed figure so I didn't have a chance to back down.

For the record, I am NEVER painting any figurine in tartan ever again...
(No, I no longer have photos of it)

After a three year break I'm getting back into the hobby, this time in 40k. I've already acquired several hundred points of a dark eldar army that I need to assemble, convert, prime and paint so that I can challenge my friends' purple orks and blood angels. I'm thinking of starting a blog thead here just for sheer motivation.

... I'm sure I'll think of more to add at a later point.
