Well, I've finally gotten around to painting my Daemons, and thought I would do a bit of a blog with them.
I originally wanted to do all Tzeentch, but with the new codex it creates a list that is just all magic and flying circus, with little to no engagement apart from tar pit units. I decided to do a dual god instead in that case, and as someone locally was already doing slaanesh/tzeentch, and Tzeentch/Nurgle are really really at odds fluff wise, I decided to run with Khorne/Tzeentch.

For Fantasy, the list is roughly:
Lord of Change, Herald of Tzeentch, 15 Bloodletters, 15 Bloodletters, 19 Horrors, 6 Furies, 6 Furies, 6 Fleshhounds, 6 Fleshhounds, 6 flamers.

Not too sure what I'll do for 40k yet, but I plan to add a couple of units of blood crushers thanks to that stunning new Jugger by Jes Goodwin and 2 soulgrinders.

Onto the actual painting!

The first unit of Flesh hounds has been finished, and I am half way working through the second. Thoughts, comments, feedback and insults all welcome

Obviously for now they really just look like Chaos Hounds (well.. they are! ;P!), but I think once I have the rest of the army up and running, they'll easily fit in as flesh hounds, and I much prefer them to the actual flesh hound models.

Cheers,
-

These guys look great, and so does their diorama/base.

Just have to do the last 2 colours on the horns tonight and then do the bases, and the second hound unit will be done !

Next up will be a unit of Horrors methinks.

I have a confession to make, this is actually a speed painting exercise where I am seriously sacrificing quality for speed.

With the painting rate, I'm pretty sure I could quite easily do an entire army in a single week should I take the week off, providing I had put the figures together and taken the mold lines off first.
Actually, putting them together and removing mold lines (which I am rather anal about) is taking longer than the painting D:!

Love the colour scheme.
Also like the use of chaos warhounds as cheap to buy flesh hounds.

Are the bases from Iron Halo or are they done by you?

Only real pedantic concern is with the mvt tray... Why are they fenced in? A more ruined back piece would help with the impression of them running through it IMHO...

The bases for the fleshhounds are the ones by Microart Studios, though for the infantry I will be using a mix of some MAS ones (unfortunately they dont do 25x25), and Iron Halo ones.

With them being a bit fenced in in this unit, I figured with the other units being less so fenced, it should be fine. The second unit has some broken stone walls and gravestones. Really the main thing was just that I needed something on each of the sides of the tray to stop it looking imbalanced (I have a real bug bear for visual balancing and where possible, symmetry) - and the similar fences worked best together.

I had originally done a red and purple scheme - and was ready to go forth with that, until I looked at my old nidzilla army and felt like painting turquoise all over again, thank god I did - the red looked like arse!

Awesome looking!
Glad you went with the aqua instead of red!
I cant wait to see more!

I agree.

I think you should go at those fences with some clippers. They just look too perfect.
OR
A little experiment is in order. Try turning the models to face the other way and take some photos and put it to a vote. It just might work?!.
OR
Use the more jumpy hounds on that base.

Hopefully once the other units are all finished and looking less "fenced", it will dilute the effect enough that I wont have to change anything : D

Finished greenstuffing all the gaps in the heads of 15 blood letters last night, so hopefully will get the purple done on them all tonight.

Man, do I like that scheme. Can't wait to see the 'letters all done up like that.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Fantastic.

I got the Dunn reference.

These models are the first I've seen painted and they look much better than the GW painted ones.

How were they to assemble?
