Do people use this thing, or is too cheesy? Infiltrate + 12" charge w/ +D6 Attacks.

It's not cheesy at all. I used to use him all the time in 4th edition, and he worked very well.

He's probably the only assassin who can make his points back now with the new assault rules.

So the Death Cults have to be used carefully, then.

Well, the Eversor benefits huge from the new combat res system, as he'll generally do a lot of wounds. On the other hand the pile in system makes him very vulnerable, as it only take on average 16 SM swings to drop him.

If you pick your targets well (small squads, shooting squads) then he will be amazing. If you throw him into a dedicated assault squad at even half strength, expect to be disappointed.

The close combat assassin in general got weaker with 5th edition. With pile-in moves and no longer being able to clear your kill zone, their range of application became narrower. Still, running 9 Death Cult Assassins or 6 and 1 Eversor will likely win you a fair share of combats. Being each an individual target means they are somewhat difficult to shoot on the way in. Bad news is that each one is a Kill Point.

I think I like it. 12" Charge. Looks cool. What's not to love.

i used him all the time in 4th with my IG, he was great. he can still reliably kill a dakka fex in close combat so long as he gets the charge. i hated Nidzilla and he was my insuarnace against dakka fexs that got too close. He is also great as a counter charge unit as he can put out a serious amount of wounds on the charge, plus he is pretty cheap.

he is also great against things similar to Dakkafexs that like Wraithlords.

and as had been said, when you have 6 death cults with him, they can all charge in and they just wreck things as they are each an individual unit. they are harder to shoot and in combat they dilute the enemies counterassualt, increasing survivability of all of the assasins.

i love the eversor.

You have to remember he doesn't have any frag grenades!
Also with the new move into combat after being charged rule means he's gonna get swamped, not a good thing!
Although a point I yet to see to be made would be Bio-Meltdown! This guy will cause damage, another little rule to make back the little points it costs already!

... na of all of them i think the Vindicar Assassin is still better he now comes with pinning ... his rifle stat line is now range: 36" S:X AP:2 heavy 1, pinning, rending (what this does for him i don't know ^_^)... combine that with the ability to pick out targets and -1 from cover saves... not for getting the special ammo

dont have the ol codex here, but i thought he came with frag and melta bombs. i thought the only assasin with no grenades was the callidus? i could be wrong though.

and the vindicar is not so hot, he only averages three dead models a game. whereas the eversor or calidus can take out far more in assaults or with the calidus´ word in your ear and template weapon.

The Eversor comes with Melta Bombs, but not Frag Grenades.

Also, we all know that the Callidus is by far the best assassin. Not that any of them are awful...

My buddy uses the Callidus. The Callidus can suck my ... you know.
