Hi, this is my first post of the forums and I have only been collecting for about a month.

My chapter was created after the first Tyranic war to reinforce the numbers of the Ultramarines. Guilliman initiated a cloning program for the surviving veterans and produced nearly 200 of the cloned Space Marines. However, once the Ultramines were back to full strength, the program was halted by Guilliman. The clone Marines slied into hiding, remote worlds throughout the system of Ultramar became the secret homes of these Space Marines. Since then, all records of the locations and identities of these men have been lost in history. The Cloned Space Marines lie watchfull of their brothers, ready to reveal themselves when the time is right. They have fought many battles with rebel uprisings, Tyranid hordes, Ork Warggghhs! (spelling?) and Tau forces, but their existence remains secred to all but its members.

Well, thats my chapters history, what do you think?

The Sons of Ultramar - My chapter, a brother chapter of the Ultramines. They were cloned after the first Tyranic war, and after the program was halted, the small number of Space Marines sat watchfu over their brothers, waiting for the right moment to reveal their true identity.

Interesting concept. Reminds me of the Death Corps of Krieg.

The only comment I would make about it though, you've picked the MOST unlikely of Chapters to perform such a nefarious act. Cloning has been banned in the Imperium, and peforming such a short cut in the Marine training program would be almost like turing to Chaos for the Ultramarines.

Now, if you based this on a Chapter like the Soul Drinkers or something like that, it would be a lot more "believable"

Just some advice.

Man down, Man down....

Is that true? I kinda thought all the space marines were a bit cloned...well ok... bio-engineered, but in the 41st millenium it's all kind of the same isn't it?

What's your source on this?

He is correct cloning is a type of tech heresy as well as xeno-gene therapy. As well as using/creating any kind of tech that could reincarnate or transplant someones being/brain into a mechanical system (either making an AI or a cyborg body with a fully functional persons brain). Which is funny for most people to read because they immediately think of dreadnoughts, servitors and marines as violating these views, but there is a slight difference. Marines are bioengineered and so legal. Servitors are mind-wiped and their brain's functionality is greatly diminished and therefore acceptable because they are controllable and not free thinking nor have the previous ownser's will still in their brain. Dreads seem to be the exception and only because they have been around since before the rules were put into place and because they are run by marine's not simple mortal men's spirits.

For information on all of this and the views of the Emporer check out the new Dark Heresy source book from Fantasy Flight that just came out in North America. It has a whole section on just these items.

thanks for that advice, may change my history a bit.

I like your Idea of having a special Founding for the Ultramarines just to give them backup against the Nids. But UM would never Clone. Might just have them as a special reserve Company or Legion just for Tyranid fighting? Founded off the Gene Seed of the Ultramarines.
