The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

So, I've not played anything GW since 1995 or maybe 1994, but Warhammer Online gave me the bug to play again. Despite that being Warhammer, I've decided to start playing W40K again. I dug my Eldar out of my parents' loft, but I'll be mainly collecting Orkz from now on, whose background I always loved, but whose models I didn't. The latest ork stuff looks awesome though, I love it all. I'll be painting up as Bad Moons, as I hate nothing more that seeing a battlefield of dull looking models. Goffs look rubbish, and Snake Bitez & Blood Axes look great if done well, but terrible when done averagely. Deth Skullz are quite dark, and Evil Sunz too common, so... Dose Yellow Bastiches it will be...

In the unlikely event of playing any Warhammer, it'll be probably Chaos, with a small chance of Skaven, whom I prefer, but think look muddy and crap on the table. Maybe making a colourful army of Skaven would be fun though...

Back in the day I played a shed load of Epic. What happened to that? On the main GW website it appears to have all but vanished - now just a "specialty" game. I used to play Necromunda and loved Blood Bowl, especially the old version with the expanded polystyrene board, but can't see me playing them ever again.

Hi all!

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Welcome to Dakka!

this is a great time to start playing orks, they are currently the most powerful army, and there new models look great. If you are interested in getting rid of any of they old models for new ones you will find that is it pretty easy (with some exceptions like horrible looking plastics GW used to make).

I dunno...

Orks are not necessarily the most powerful 40K force, any army can be beaten with the right tactics, or a beardy army, but that's not a good thing
