This is going on my A-Z Article of scratch build.

It's not a surprise that most of this is made from jenga blocks brought from a thrift store. Base is half an old office blotter base. The throne is some scrabble tiles and the pillars are cake decorations.

The elephant is a mis-buy for a unit I'm building.

C and c always welcome.

I hope you add more to the pillars and blocks, seeing how things like that need more detail. I am also a little wary on the elephant.... what is this for, WHFB or 40K?

I may give them a marble look, or maybe... dunno yet. Will give some thought.

Either or None, as far as the Elephant goes. In Whfb, it's tricky obviously and definitely couldn't be 'Imperial' or northern, but maybe Tomb King or that Southern Port city place.. Istria?

Well, I'd say if you filled in the obvious jenga block and throne gaps, and perhaps cut the base off the elephant, and possibly base the area around the throne, then it should at least look decent.

A marble effect would look cool.

I dunno...

That southern port place is Tilea, which is pseudo-Italian, the elephant would be more Araby

Yeah, those are may next tasks, kinda threw it together for my article page. The Elephant isn't even attached.

Hmmm, interesting idea. I agree with Feind, I'm not sure about the elephant. A marble effect will look cool, and I'm excited to see what this comes out like.

I am the worst filler in history. Anyone know where I can buy/how I can make a tiny applicator tube?

Still it'll look better when I sand it down.

The cage at the side is one of pair of xmas decs I got cheap. They fit neatly between the steps and the pillars but then you can't see inside them easily, obv.

Any ideas what I could do with them? Should I use one, two or four?

Finally, I've decided to scratchbuild some burning braziers in the top of the pillars.

Finally, finally, note distinct lack of elephant, who was only really thrown on their for effect anyhoo.

IMHO, I don't see any good place for the cage. You could make some medieval -esqe prison cages hanging from a chain, with a bunch o skeletons in em. that would be pretty brutal. But as I said, I can't see any place on this piece to put it and it not look silly.

Maybe get some really fine sand paper or nail files and go over the glue, so its smooth. that should help.

Sanded down and painted gloss black

A layer of lightened black paint applied with the tip of a stiff brush and a sponge to remove excess.

A couple more layers, applied the same way over less area.

Marble white lines (white liiiiines, going across my mind, don't do it!) added with a couple of good brushes not being too careful. Mixture of good paint weight and drybrushing (as paint disappears). Photographed in daylight, obv. Also shows the 'throne' painted gold.

Shows the contrasting marble vinyl wall tile that will cover the base. If it looks to rough, I wll simply lift it as it isn't stuck down.

What I've done that you can't see:

Dry brushed silver over the throne. Made some cushions and a discarded cloak from clay.

Things to do.

TAKE BETTER PICS! Damnitall.

Decide what to do with the colouring of the pillars. Any suggestions?

Make braziers and flames for the top of the pillars.

Something statuary for the top of the throne arch and the two side pillars (not elephants!)

The marble looks really good in that last pic Better pictures would be great though!

I can still see the "C" in the throne, I'm guessing something will be sitting there to block it?

Overall great work! It might get picked apart on here, but it'll look dam sweet on your tabletop and in a game . It's especially practical since it's very geometric and you'll be able to have models stand on the steps easily enough.

Great work so far, let's see it finished

Yeah the C will be hidden by the 'Cushion of Shadows' or the 'Robe of Disappearance'...

THanks for the comps.

A better pic, I think.

I've painted up some cushions as well, but not picced them up yet.

Using Jenga and Scrabble pieces to make scenery for WH?

Made me think of Weird Al Jankovich doing another verion of "Gansta's paradise" called "Gamers paradise"...

Keep spending most our lifes livin in a Gamer's Paradise.

Something tells me that even rapping, most gamers would struggle to pen the lyrics "bin" and "lifes" (as well as the other points of poor grammar, pronunciation, spelling and general misuse of the English language) without a huge cringe.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

You've got some interesting daylight over there.

Looks pretty good... I was worried that the 'Jenga' might be sort of embossed and come out in the painting, until I saw you were using filler anyway...

EDIT: I take that back. I can totally see letters.

Ah, yeah. Now I look real carefully, so can I.

Hmm, an application of black matt paint should solve that, I hope.

Obviously it is the marble throne of Prince Jenga, Lord of the Wobbly Tower! Cower before his unsteady hands!

Do you have any urns or something you could decorate the podium area with? Though the marble looks good, it is a LOT of marble. Something to break it up would help a good bit I think.

yeah, I'm debating (and asking for ideas!) for the plinths. I'm also goin go lay some furs and cushions around the place.

The pillars are going to contain 'braziers' with fire in them, but I'm not sure about what to colour them yet. Probably a plain stone or a different type of marble (all stipple and no white lines).
