Sorry to post a new topic that isn't offering up pics of something done, those are my favourites too!

Thing is, I always see lots of people's daemon possessed vehicles that are Nurgle oriented, they pretty much seem to make themselves, such is the genrosity of Papa Nurgle and his pustulent ways. But I'm struggling to find inspiration or examples of other Chaos Gods' marks on vehicle models. In my case, I want some daemon possessed Vindis for an Undivided force, and apart from modelling up the appearance of hatches welded shut and various sigils/runes, I've not got a lot of ideas.

Also, I already want to put a boat load of runic marks on a regular rhino or two, so I don't think the sigils approach would stand out enough in the force. I'm not really looking to attach a daemon torso to the hull, so it doesn't have to be something too spectacular. Preferably effective, distinctive and fun to do. I'll likely have to do more than one, too.

Can someone point me towards some good examples? I've found nothing so far on Google type searches or on Dakka itself. You'd think there were a few around.

Here is an easy solution :

find friends ( or if yourself play tyranids ) with tyranid left over bits

attach monstrous creature weapons onto the tank!

Luna's idea kind of works, though it ends up looking more like a Tyranid-infected vehicle than something suitably Chaotic.

Spikes and horns cracking through the armor and completely random chaotic body parts warping out of the side plating are both good solutions to the "Chaos Undivided" posession problem, and can both be suitably achieved with the Chaos Spawn box and a little bit of conversion work.

Pain is an illusion of the senses, Despair an illusion of the mind.

Someone did a Slaaneshi themed army with tanks that had a fleshy feel. There's one or two ways to slanneshi-fy a vinidicator that would get you banned from stores.

Still, take this idea, and paint it red, and instead of ooze, paint it as gore.

Take the crow's cage from the fantasy giant (who you can turn into a daemon prince...) and use that to make it post apocalyptic. Mad Max-ify it.

Why not use the possessed Defiler's from the Daemon Army?

It's plastic, you could just cut and paste him onto the vindicare or something similar.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Slicing up lesser daemons or vampire counts ghouls or sumsuch and greenstuffing them growing out of the armour plates is a good one. Think Tzeenchian 'trapped faces' effect?

Here's mine. It's Nurgle themed, but you could use a bunch of those ideas on an undivided version.

You can see the rest of the model in my Gallery. Basically I have a lot of tentacles and slime coming out of every possible opening.

This was the direction I'd take, although personally my sculpting skills are not up to scratch. An easier method would be to cut/file off the backs of some shouty heads, stick them to the tank, and greenstuff the join to blend the head into the tank. Understated, and if done right, wonderfully unsettling.

I'm not very good with green stuff. What I did with my dreadnought was just put a small slab of green stuff on a surface and smoothed the sides out as if it the face was forcing itself out of the armor. I just used a sculpting tool to make grinning faces on it. Like a very angry/mischievous smiley.

Thanks all, I already have faces and spikes coming off a WIP predator, so still trying to find other ideas. I'm sure I sound hard to please, I am just surprised to find so few images of anything other than Nurgled up vehicles and the occasional slashy chppy bladed Khornate vehicle.

I've given up on Google, will try Flickr next, it worked last night for my annual image search for the Super Bowl poster!

PS. Anung Un Rama, I think you can get ointment for that...

I unfortunately don't have a camera, but for my 1K sons vindicator, I just painted runes over all the hatches, thought that would be good to show the spirits of the marines still in control...

Owch. Thats one unhappy assassin.

For my IW vehicles, Ive covered the thing in chains, bolted across the hatches etc, and glued some of the hatches partially open, with the chains taught, as if something is trying to break out.

I hear pouring superglu onto a surface, then dripping water onto it makes a pretty weird texture also.

Perhaps if you don't favor the detailed greenstuff approach you could try this idea: cut small cracks and gaps in the armor then place some spare plastic behind the gap or some real rudimentary greenstuff ( doesn't have to look fancy it just needs to be distinguishable from armor plates). You could then paint fill spots in a glow fashion or just in a color that sharply contrasts with the rest of the vehicle. Hell if you really wanted to go at it you could use LED's instead of painted material but that would obviously be a lot more work. Hope that helps.

Standing right behind you...

They don't look Daemon possessed though, no offence, they just look highly adorned.
Maybe convert the front to form some sort of leering face and a big grabby hand jutting out from the side, possibly add a crater there?
There was a thread on zis already:
