Somewhere in the confinds of central Jersey

Okay I designed this list for the 2009 GT circuit but, my FLGS is having a 2000 point RTT soon and I caan't figure out what to cut from the list.

Here's the 2250 list

Great Unclean One- trappings of nurglings stream of bile LVL 3 610

Herald Of Tzeench- master of sorcery spell breaker 165
(joined to big unit of horrors)

Skulltaker- Juggernaught 200
(joined to either bloodcrushers or blood letters)

10 Horrors 120

29 Horrors- banner icon of sorcery 375

12 bloodletters 144

5 flesh hounds 175

5 flesh hounds 175

2 bloodcrushers 140

5 fllamers 175

That equals 2244.

So if you have any ideas on how to drop the last 244 i'm more than appreciative.

FYI there is no comp score at the tourney.

Come on Dakka I need advice!

drop skull taker and crushers and use the extra points to beef up on of the smaller units? maybe make one of the hound units 6

Drop 19 Horrors from the Big block as well as the banner. Take wings on the Herald instead of the Spell Breaker. Drop the Crushers and put a BSB on Tzeentch Herald with with either the Standard of Sundering or the Icon of Despair. Then get a unit of 5 - 6 Furies.

Okay here's the list that somebody from warseer and I made.

GUO- lvl 4 trappings stream of bile noxious vapors 670

Heald of tzeench- lvl 2 spell breaker master of sorcery 165

10 horrors 120

29 horrors- banner icon of sorcery 375

12 bloodletters 144

5 flesh hounds 175

4 flamers 140

3 blood crushers 210

Okay the GUO acts as an anvil for the army wile the crushers and hounds are the hammers the big unit of horrors is for monsters and and smaller deathstar type units. The bloodletters are their protection since they have a TON of staying power. The crushers are nice since it's always good to have a unit that can charge into a unit of 5 chosen chaos knights and a lord and come out on top and generate enough combat res to beat up a ranked infantyr unit.

I assume you want a GUO list. I'd drop everything else except the GUO but equip it completely differently, and start afresh. Your list is simply terrible and in no way suited for any GT circuit unless you are dead set on embarassing yourself and losing a lot of games with the best army book in the game.

Without making a new list for you, the things you should be looking at are balesword, standard of chaos glory, if you want to be cheap a siren song to autokill enemy lords by pulling them into the asf balesword, and lots and lots of stubborn flesh hounds.

Why would you want a Balesword if you can regenerate and just take skulltaker... I agree with the above as far as everythiing else but, some of us don't want to be SUPER cheesy and, some of us use tactics when we play so we don't bring cookie cutter lists. I f I wanted to win a GT because of my lis this is what I would bring...

But that's not the army I want to run and, if you read the tit;e it says that this is for a local RTT not a
GT circuit I was using the list from the first postas my GT circuit but, after a few play tests ( I've only recently sarted daemons) I realized how bad it was in comparison to what I could have brought.

Even your so called 'cheesy' list has major flaws (for example the complete lack of furies at the expense of cramming flamers into a list that doesn't really need 12 of them which coincidentally also leads to you having too small flesh hound units and possibly one unit too few). I could somewhat approve the trappings of nurgle if your GUO was stubborn, but it's not.

If you have failed to understand it so far, a GUO can be used succesfully in two ways: Either he's an unbreakable (stubborn) anvil unit that is retardedly hard to get rid of because of the massive amount of wounds and regeneration and ward save, or he's one of the best character killers in the entire game while still providing anvil duties. Yours is neither. You should just get a BT. The tactics involving the equip and use of a BT shouldn't be very hard to grasp.

I agree with Negative Money and would drop the 29 horror unit down to 10.

I never liked the big horror unit. If you want magic power get a greater daemon for the terror too.

You can run Papa Nurgle one of two ways as Therion pointed out

Butt Kicker
Papa Nurgle Level 4, Balesword, noxious vapors
backed up by
BSB either Khorne Herald or Nurgle Herald as below with standard of Sundering.
some unit with Siren Song

Can't Kill me
Papa Nurgle level 3, Trappings and Infestation
back him up with Battle Standard Bearer Herald of Nurgle on Palaquin with Stream of Bile and Noxious Vapors with Banner of Sundering in a unit of Plaguebearers and some Nurglings for infestation.

Either way if your running papa nurgle you want a BSB don't want him poofing. Standard of Sundering is good here.

If your doing Nurgle going all Nurgle is pretty popular if special characters are allowed because you can put in Epidemus for his tallyman which is really nasty.


The Herald of Tzeench I run with winged horror and master of sorcery. I know that leaves you with no dispel scroll but if your horror unit gets charged by something nasty your herald is just dead so having the option to fly him to safety. Its a hard decision. Don't exactly like not having a dispel scroll but if you want to be really cheesy you can run Skulltaker with Changeling next to him in a unit of horrors with the Herald of Tzeench with his spellbreaker and master of sorcery.

At least 1 flock of 5-6 furies is highly recommended if not 2 units.

If your going to run 1 unit of Flesh Hounds make it one unit of 6-8 so you have extras in case they get shot.

I would run 5-6 Flamers or 2 Beasts of Nurgle before I run Bloodcrushers they are just vulnerable to shooting not to mention 25 bucks each. Beasts of Nurgle are pretty tough against Chaos Knights with regen and ward.

You want a Balesword on Papa Nurgle because it is just really cheesy with Siren Song and if there are no special characters allowed you can not take Skulltaker.

The cheese list is over points. Take out a unit of Flesh hounds and maybe drop Flamers to 5 if you have to to get in at least 1 group of furies.
