Eh, I was thinking Twin Turbo Lazer and the Plasma.

I am assembling one so I was just kind of looking at the best lay out over all. I also think that will be the easier conversion.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

My initial analysis for all imperial titans is...

just spam strength D

warhound-twin turbo x2

reaver twin turbo, triple laser blaster x2

its really frustrating that they didn't put different points values in....

VMB gets 10 hits, 8.4 wounds, 4.2 failed cover saves against T4 or T3. Only 3 failed saves against T5 or T4 that went to ground.

If you only average 2 models per 5" blast, the strength D weapon wins. No rolling to wound, no saves, no muss no fuss.

Plasma has a better anti-infantry profile. But each time you allow a new set of rolls to be required, you lose effectiveness. You have to roll wounds, so you lose all the wounds that come up '1', and you allow cover saves. That opens the door for a unit to go to ground and ignore 67% of your titan weapon output.

Not to mention vehicles... the hole of the plasma shot scatters off of the tank you were trying to hit, and its a wasted shot. Those D blasts count as a pen even if the blast is just kissing the edge of a tank. No roll to fail, just a pen, with a +1 to damage.

If all your looking for is pure killing power then yes the Twin Turbo is the most effective weapon in just about every situation, the plasmablast gun coming in a close second if you face large horde armies.

You might get some people claiming cheese but it's your $400 modal. And the fact it's the only AT gun the Titan can even take it's almost required to take one unless you plan on only killing infintry and lets be honest for killng infintry 750 could be better spent elsewhere.

I am actually with the help of a friend making one from scratch, as I think it will be fun.

Do Titans ignore intervening terrain since their guns are high (elevated) mounted? Even if the rules for this warmachine don't state this as such a clear case can be made due to the new TLOS rules.

In general if you are going to take a Titan make sure to support it with a lot of infantry surrounding it.

Every Titan should have at least two Inq/Mystic groups nearby.

Plus lots of bodies to keep the enemy at sword reach. I've seen too many Titans drop in close combat.

Agreed, I have no idea why I typed such a short, simple reply above. Titans surrounded by TH/SS Terms + Mystic Groups = 40k Deathstar. Then again, my Titan sits in the Display case most time....

If you read the front half of the apoc book it tells you that even back in 4th ed super heavies use TLOS. so I don't see why this would change.
