Here are some shot of my WIP.

Plans for him are slowly coming along while I work on other things for customers right now. Based off the first released Balrog for LotR I chained some skulls and added armor plates from Warjacks in Warmachine.

The shin guards are from Lich Lord Terminus.

His wings are binging greenstuffed. The white plasticard is to give some support to the area of flesh that would still be stretched while the rest will hang in ragged tatters.

I am also costume building and sculpting his axes. Both of which are massive. One of the funny things I had to sculpt was on the backside of his right hand. The Balrog originally only had 3 fingers while the fist from the Bloodthirster has 4. I sculpted a stump for the fourth one on his right so it was balanced. I figure a demon like Skarbrand has seen enough combat to lose a digit or two.

Any CC is greatly appreciated. I will see about using this as my running blog for his ultimate finish.

Looks great so far, I would love to see what the final piece looks like.

Just wondering what you used for the shoulder pads?

They are the upper carapace for the Leviathan Helljack from Cryx. Had one sitting on my worktable and thought, "hmm, those look just big enough." Took some grinding and actual bending to make it wide enough to sit on his shoulder.

I got one of the very early ones - these have metal wings in two parts that kinda lap over each other. Now that's a pig!

Love the idea & follow-through on the wings. Should look great when finished. Blog it up

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I like the bone/muscle work on the wings, but I think there should be a bit more wing 9length), before they shear off.

Looking good, though.

Skarbrand is a Bloodthirster with his wings all tattered, coz he pissed off Khorne.

The conversion looks good though, can't wait to see the wings.
