Hello,

I am working on a squad of bloodletter's for a friend going to adepticon. This is the first time I have painted bloodletter's and wanted to see what people thought. It's just the basic gw color scheme for them. I do not have a whole lot of time to finish them, they have to be done by this up comming friday. The reason the bases are white is that they are going to transferred to special bases being made for them when they are done.

Thoughts?

Here is the test model;

What are you waiting for to paint more of them,
'cos, judging on the model, you're a verry good painter. Keep up the good work

technically - lovely & perfect - really clean & subtle but effective shading. can't quite make out the finish on the sword due to lighting & framing of the picture.
personally - a red glaze (the old inks not the new) to richen & deepen the red.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I'll have to try the red glaze I think I have some floating around, thanks. The sword is just black with the foundation grey highlight along the middle of the blade leading up to a codex gray at the top. I wanted to do a fade from black to red along the whole blade but time contraints won't allow it.

I have already started the rest of the squad along the same path, hoping to have all of the shading done by tomorrow.

Finished! I think this was a new record for me 10 models in 4 days. Finishing 4 models a week is normal for me

Is the extra light tone on the faces intentional? Other then perhaps highlight the rest to match, I have nothing to add. Those are some nice miniatures.

Yea, the highlight to the face was intentional. I just like the way it looks and draws the attention, I've done it with some of my other Daemon's and liked the outcome

imo, one more highlight with yellow and white would benefit more for the glowing hell fire effect.

Right now they just look like they are orange creatures :x ( dont misunderstand me xD , they are very nicely painted ,
but tiny bit more highlights and you 'll win some awards with them imo )

I agree a little more highlight would make them look even more awesome. Perhaps doing something to the back of the "head cone" you know, that thing sticking out behind their heads. I start looking at models from the top and my eye is too lazy to follow that expanse of dotted orangeness down to the face.

It's one of those minor things, but I think it would make them look much better. At least to me.

EDIT: there's no need to do anything. It's already far better than my skills.
