Would it be viable to use the Ultraforge pleasure demon model for my Slaaneesh army? I really love the model, but still would be modding it a bit to make it fit into 40k more. Also I would not use that base it comes with, not a big fan of it. Finally would I cause an uproar using this princess at my LGS?

At your LGS? I don't see why not. The 'Counts As' rule is your friend. If you say its a daemon prince, then it is.

If you want to use it in tournaments however, that may cause problems. Lots of tournaments subscribe the the 'GW Models Only' policy, so I'd get it cleared by a tournament organizer first.

The gw greater daemons blow. I am planning to use the Ultraforge ward daemon for my BT. I have an old one to use at GW events this year.

As for the other question, well, I have seen a converted, bent over, naked, Chaos-ified Barbie used as a Defiler before the kit was released. Just a couple of months ago, I saw a guy using Dixie Cups(!!!), flowers and all, as drop pods. Lame. Bottom line, though: It's your money, your army, your choice. If you're referring to aethstetics and imagery, I think it will be fine.

I have heard people are taking it to represent a greater daemon, so I also wonder is size an issue here? Would she be too large to represent a Daemon Prince (Princess in this case). I realize that base is giving her some height but how would she stack size wise against GW's current model.

Maybe I am thinking old school rules here, but would I not get complaints if this sucker was on a huge base? Say I put her on a Dread Base is that the size the GW model fits on?

She does fit on a dread base (60mm)

Body wise UF stuff isnt that tall but the wings are big.

Ordering her shortly! Now on to the idea of how to 40k her up a bit, besides some subtle armor plating, and replacing her weapon( I like the Lash thing going on in her left hand) any other suggestions?

Hmm, all looks interesting - can't believe they blurred a minis nipples by the way! lol. I just saw this model myself recently - have been thinking long and hard about a Slaaneshi Daemon Princess (because i'm not a fan of the GW GD either) and was also thinking about how to 40k it up. Fact is, it will be tough. Mostly because Daemons are apparently the same in the 40k verse as they were in the old days. It is not like you can really give her a gun or anything!

However having said that, i'd look to the Tyranid line range for something useful there, blended in biological 'implant' style projectile weapons could be really nice. If you take your time and search the nids you may find he perfect weapon for the model. I guess it is more reasonable for a Daemon Prince(ss) to have a gun mind you, because aren't they just normal warriors imbued with tremendous strength and mutations etc? In which case they may still carry guns. You could actualy go OTT with it, and just buy the biggest fattest (lets face it, probably phallic-ist lol) gun/rocket around and just meld it to her spare arm! That would certainly make a statement and give no confusion as to the millenium you are playing in.

I wouldn't go too subtle on the armour. After all these are masters and mistresses of the excess or the garish, the vibrant etc. I think with this model we have what most people wanted for this kind of DP (slaanesh unit in general) which is a very large attractive 'excess' model - i'd use that as the base for your conversion and then perhaps go 'eavy armour on her et al. Anyways that is a lot of commenting for a quick question lol - i'm planning on getting her myself soon and seeing what I can do. Are you planning to post the pics when done? I wouldn't mind seeing one done up for 40k and painted etc.

Glad to hear some one else has had a similar idea. Briefly taking your advice I was thinking of putting a scything talon from the Tyranid monstrous creature sprue on her right arm. I think that would look nice. I have some wonderful ideas for the armor as far as painting goes. I would like to add something to her shoulder area. It seems far to spartan right now.

Again I do enjoy the whole lash thing she has going on in her left hand. Adds to the whole Slaanesh/ Lash power thing. I would like to make it a little more exaggerated though.

Lots of ideas going on in my head. I will be buying her realtively soon and most definitely will keep up a picture report on her progress.

Any more suggestions or feedback is more then welcome.

I think my gun idea was bogus, I did some more reading about them and reaiised it was no good. Oddly I had the exact same idea about using scything talons (my partner collects tyranids). I was going to make it look quite 'dark eldar wych blade-ish' - hard to describe, but it is a big blad on top with a small blade on the underside of it, looks slightly 'claw' like but not really lol.

I'm going to make her look quite BDSM (bondage-domination-sado-masoshism-ish)-ish by painting the armour and straps dark purple, making them look leather like and perhaps added some wires and tubing etc - this I think takes it away from the 'fluffy fantasy' world of Warhammer fantasy and brings it that gritty 'sexier' 40k feeling - looking more modern. That'd be my plan. I agree too about the whip, should be a little longer but looks lovely. We seem to be quite in tune on this lol.

My other thought was to bore a small hole in her mouth (that is right I would mutilate the model i just paid 70 bucks for) and place a twisted tongue in it, using a clever paintjob to join the lips up on the bottom. I think the face is a little too pretty (i think it shoudl be pretty) but there are no 'daemon' element yet. I have a spare nurgle greater daemon tongue (which looks quite slaaneshi from the codex art) and i think i can insert that in her mouth and have it spitting out - couple that with a daemonic grin and creepy eyes and i think it'll look grand.

Any thoughts? I hope that might have been helpful.

My experience is that outside of big tournaments most players enjoy playing against lovingly converted miniatures, even if size/base/LOS/etc differs a bit from the original. I would certainly love playing against it. I hope you will post some pictures when you have painted it.

Yeah they are two of my favs quotes, and rather sci-fi obscure. As a bit of an uber-liberal feminist type I feel conflicted about him sometimes (he has very pro-women and then some rather anti-women ideas) but that is just him I guess. Anyways this is a warhammer forum damnit not a book club! (reminding myself...)

Lol, i'm not worried about 'getting away with it', if someone doesn't like it they can bite me. I'm not very 'down' with this whole puritanical attitude about sex anyways, and as you stated GW stuff has just as much.

Hell mine will look more like a dominatrix than anything else so that'll be fun - I assume i'll be able to post my pictures of it on here...

If we are to make Real World (tm) paralells, I'm more worried about GWs attitude to violence than with their attitude to sex. But that goes for most of our media and entertainment industri I think.

Slaanurglette: I agree a lot about the Heinlein conflicts. I think he is a goodintentioned biologist, in his time it was hard to be more enlightened than that, and he has done a wonderful job of disqualifying many very stupid ideas. If he lived today, I think he would have incorporated gender into his otherwise very queer-theory way at looking at the world. Dammit, this should have been in another thread, or possibly in a pm. Oh well. If you would PM me your original avatarpic I'd be very grateful... I think :-) And then I'll try to keep on the threads topic of discussing boobs on non-GW resin demons.

On topic again: Do you think your random FLGS-people would find it more upsetting if you paint pubic hair on the demon model (seeing as her thong is a bit slim) or to leave the crotch skincoloured to give the impression of a pre-pubescence or a close shave (or possibly a non-sexual groin, but that feels very un-fluffy with Slaanesh)? Or is it best to avoid the problematic matter of female body hair all together by painting her to look like she is wearing leggings?

Lol, what do you mean by 'FLGS-people'? I'm not sure - in general, I'd go clean shaven on such a thing, too much effort otherwise and it looks like you are going out of your way to make it 'hyper-sexed' - much as I may enjoy such ideas it is primarily a wargame so making her look vicious and bloody would be my top pic. I think clean shaved will be my way to go with her. Though leggings could be nice too. Yeah Heinlein was in a different age, like most people had some enlightened views but was a victim of culture in so many other ways.

Second person to ask for that now. I'm still toying with the idea of a gun. It seems very 'undaemon' but they are described in the books and fluff as 'mortals given daemonic strength and power' and so she could easily be some sort of corrupted battle sister etc and twisted into this giant she-daemon. Seriously considering a third arm, but I dont' want to overkill it. Hmm lots to think about.
