Greetings readers... Although this is my first project log on Dakka, some of you may have seen my previous attempts at finishing an army of various descriptions over on Warseer. Despite my best efforts I've never finished a GW army for either Warhammer, 40K, Epic or Battlefleet Gothic, so disheartened I quit the hobby about 18months ago (not for the first time!). After clearing out the loft/wardrobe I'm only left with a couple of shoe boxes of stuff (and a few extra quids, which the wife and kids have no doubt spent by now!), one of which contains a few Ork sprues, a couple of Orc sprues and a few other bits and bobs.

For some reason these boxes were missed out in the Great Clearence, but have been calling to me for a couple of weeks now. So after a quick look around on Warseer (for the first time in nearly a year!) I have decided to start one last project... this is it fellas, if I can't finish this one then I am truly going to join the real world and wait until my son is old enough to discover all this for himself (in about eight or nine years!).

So, I hear you cry, "tell us brotherAkkyshan, what is this project you talk of?"

Well... let me introduce you to...

Da Iron 'Ammerz!

Ok, here's the plan: To finish (to a painted standard) my first ever GW project. That includes said Ork Bloodbowl team, pitch and possibly stadium (I can hear you groaning at the back!) as well as full fluff/history for the team. Sound promising? Good, then I shall begin.

Da 'Ammerz are a team formed from the reminants of two now defunct teams, Crippled Malice (points deductions, losing their home ground in a bet) and Killwall (general in-fighting!). Based in their newly "built" home stadium of Up'em Park and lead by their fearless captain Bobby Mork this bunch of newbies are beginning to tear up the lower leagues (quite literally in some cases!).

I have enough bits and pieces (I think) to put together the following team members:

4x Black Orc Blockerz
Bobby Mork (team captain)
Billy Bombz
Skaven Bile-itch
Toe-smash Repkork

4x Blitzerz
Goff Hurtz
"Tank" Lump'Ard
Spleen Bashton
Mad 'Arry Cripps

2x Throwers
Shaky Pigslop
"Kalamity" Jamez

1x Lineman
"Tank" Lump'Ard Snr.

1x Goblin
Teddy Snottin'em

Please feel free to comment and critique the idea, the minis (when they appear!) or to tell me if you think I should give in and finally hang up my modelling tools in shame!

Ok, here are some pics of the first "boyz" out of Da 'Ammerz training "Akademy"!

First up we have the number one choice Thrower "Shaky" Pigslop! Renowned for his inability to throw, run or catch his natural inability has been a hinderance to every team he's played for.

This poor fella is so far un-named as I was only intending on having a single thrower but when the bits came out the bitzbox it was obvious what position he'd play in! I may now have to re-think my starting list. Possibly go with two throwers... I'm also toying with the idea of a Gobbo or two... eek! Those who know me know my habit of preferring what excites me modelling wide and to hell with the tactics!
[edit] This guy is now the unfortunate "Kalamity Jamez", so called for his inability to do anything right wot soever! It is thought by his team mates that he may be an overgrown goblin in disguise!!

I've also decided on a paint scheme. Those who have the slightest inclination towards (proper!) football may be aware that West Ham United (the real life team these guys are based on) play in light blue and claret coloured shirts and white shorts. Hence the scheme I'm going for is dark red armour, white trousers and clothing and light blue skin! Will have to do a test model when I can, but I'm really hoping they turn out ok as the colour scheme will fit perfectly with the theme.

I've also decided to do the team coach, Ron Greenskin. Hopefully using Orc Fantasy Boss parts... I may even attempt greenstuffin' a donkey jacket on him!

Ok... time for some background "fluff"!

WARNING!
The following article was lifted entirely from Orkypedia so its accuracy and authenticity should be taken with a (large) pinch of snotling dung!

Da Iron 'Ammerz
From Orkypedia, the free encyclo-wotsit

Da Iron 'Ammerz are a registered NAF Bloodbowl team based in the Up'em Park Stadium, sometimes referred to as Da Dis-embowlin' Ground. They 'ave played their 'ome matches here since tuesday week.

Their current team coach is Ron Greenskin. He was appointed to the position 'cos he's the biggest!

The club was originally founded from the remains of two now defunct teams, Crippled Malice, the team that famously lost their 'ome ground in a bet wiv Snotlin' Trotspurts and Killwall. Killwall were unable to continue as a team after in-fightin' left their coach "Rhino" Keef with only one available outfield player! They initially intended to compete in the Orca-Cola Championship, but were found not to posess the required funds to bribe their way into the league. They are now forced to play where-ever and whenever they can.

Up'em Park, also known as Da Dis-embowlin' Ground!

1. 'istory (oops done that bit already!)
2. Crest (wot's one of them 'den?)
3. Kolours (green innit?!)
4. Supporters, hooliganism and rivalries... 'ere we go!

Crest
Well it'll be a couple of bloomin' great big 'ammerz wont it? Why? 'Cos theyz good for smashin' fings!

Kolours
Although they usually end up covered in blood, sweat and excriment the clubs colours at the start of a match are white shorts and crimson coloured armour. The players 'ave also taken to painting their faces blue as they think "bloo is a lucky kolour, innit?!"

Supporters, hooliganism and rivalries
'Nuff said!
(Editors note:- Orks are not known for their impartiality or their cool tempers! Hence Da Iron 'Ammerz rivals are too numerous to mention and the terms supporter and hooligan are completely interchangable in this case.)

You know, with all the =I=munda posts going on, I'd wondered how long it would be before we saw more kitbashed Blood Bowl teams here. I'm currently working on a Skaven team and had contemplated starting a blog for them - this gives me more encouragement for that.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

with the arm pretending to throw, if you have extra arms you could experiment of making the fingers individual, like instead of one complete hand, cut small lines in between each fingers and pose them (if your confident enough). Good luck on finishing your army

Glad you all like 'em!

I agree with that there should be more Bloodbowl on 'ere! Death By Monkeys start a blog! It really does encourage you to get a move on so to speak! To prove it here is a little update:

'Ere we 'ave the team Kaptain and the 'ardest Ork this side of the river... Bobby Mork! Fearless as well as a little senseless he has been the backbone of the team since it was founded (about a fortnight ago!).

Next up is Billy Bombz, vice Kaptain (ie in charge of all the porn n' stuff!) who secretly harbours 'aspirashuns' of taking over from Bobby should anything 'un-toward' happen.

'Ere is a shot of the whole team so far. You may notice a Blitzer and my only lineman are present. It would appear they are both a little 'camera shy' as none of the pictures I took of them came out at all! Still they are there... Spleen Bashton and "Tank" Lump'ard Snr.

And finally... just a little something for all the real football supporters out there, the most important part of any team, the twelth man itself...

Da Fanz!!!

Even though I haven't even finished this team I am already thinking about my next one (I know, there wasn't supposed to be a 'next one'!), don't panic just yet though! The idea is to do a Goblin team that will act as Da 'Ammerz 'yoof' team... same colours, same theme just a different playing style to use every now and again. What do you think?

Aaarrhhh... painted may well be another matter entirely!

Despite being in the hobby (off and on) since 1988 and having amassed, put together, then either sold or lost a Space Hulk Terminators force, a High Elf army, one Marine, one Ork, one Eldar and one Tyranid Epic army, a skaven army, at least three Space Marine armies, both Warhammer and 40k Chaos armies, an Imperial Battlefleet Gothic Fleet, an Imperial Guard Combat Patrol, A Tau Combat Patrol, a Nurgle Deamon army for 40k, a Necron army, and a Tyranid army, the only things I've ever painted to date are a Valhallen Guardsman (yes that's ONE guardsMAN!) and an Imperial Light Cruiser for BFG!!!

The guys at my local gaming store have offered to give me a few lessons but I think I may be too old to learn anything new now! I may have to find someone to paint them for me...

Still, I am hoping to get the last four guys done over the weekend. I still need to do 'da Boss' and maybe a medic type guy. After that I may just try to get soem games in to learn the rules and then start on the Gobbo 'yoof' team.
