Ive been thinking would I be mad to make an entire IG Akurion Pattern Tank Company???

Would that be too mad for even me?

After much deliberation and much drooling over the Forge World tanks you can buy the Akurion pattern ones I got it mid way through a 12hr shift at work in my head that come the end of the month I was gonna buy as much plastic armour that it would make georgi kukov cry in his grave!!!!.

But saying that...........I still have WAAAAAAAAAGH SNAGGA,and a full Warband of Uruk Hai to paint plus a Vampire Counts army simmering gently on the olde ideas stove

BUT THIS WOULD BE EPIC! I can picture it now tons of armour being shoved down the enemies throats phalanx of magestic Leman Russ crushing the bones of their enemies super heavies lining up to kill titans ooooooooooo (shivers)

Now heres my dilemma this army I wont be starting till end of month
On my mental shopping list (For Starters)

1 Leman Russ (To act as command tank)
1 ShadowSword Kit (Titan Killer Command Tank)
1 Baneblade (Anti Armour command tank)
Various Forge World Kreig upgrades engine filters stubber mounts etc etc Kreig Tank crews

My question is....Could I build engine filters out of stuff you normally get rather then having to destroy my finances on Forgeworld also where could I find cheap affordable gas mask heads to use on my kreig tankers.?

Engine filters shouldn't be too hard, you could use circles of card/plastic of differing sizes to stack up with some sort of round button on top and make a 'base for it. Could try to get some of the chimneys from the warhammer house, they would come in useful, or just use random bits and pieces. Tanks are quite easy to add bits to if you're careful what you put where so it doesn't look like extra bits just stuck on. As for gas masks - I think that's a sculpting job. Try sticking a short length of guitar string so it sticks out from the mouth and then add a bit of green stuff around it to cover most of the face. Takes a little practise but you'll get it. Just try to keep the face dry and your modelling tool wet so it sticks to the face and not the tool. Good luck - hope to see some pictures!

Yea this is a brewing idea Still have Orks and Uruks to paint before I do this.

Have you looked at using pig iron heads?

hmmm the only ones I saw were the Ork Gas mask heads they had to they do kreig esk guard ones??
