Right, first of all he wasn't a 'sniper' as such, the picture I posted ended up looking like a rifle though... Now then onto the blogage!
waaaay back at the start of March, I logged onto dakka, and what do you know, there's a painting challenge. I figured why not, and then realised I had no money after buying two sets of assault marines... Nevertheless, I set about searching through my spare parts and began to put together a marine (not gluing yet though, I was just grabbing parts). It was after about 15 minutes of searching that I realised I had no more legs... bugger.
So the 'man-jumping-out-of-a-bush' idea came to life. The first thing I did was grab all the parts I could use:
-Two
SM arms, one with a bolt pistol
-
SM torso, backpack, shoulder pads and head
-Terminator base
-A random tree I found in stuff from my old train set.
So I set about cutting the trunk off the tree to make it bush-like. I then re-undercoated the marine chaos black, and set about making my first conversion: a suppressor for the pistol. In the end I used the end of an ink-tube from a pen. Observe:
After the suppressor was done, I went about sticking a knife into the marine's other hand, and started to but some skull white down to make the camouflage more convincing
Then, I stuck the guy together, I went about sticking a knife into the marine's other hand, and began to paint him with various shades of snot green to make camouflage.
Once that was done, it was just a simple case of sticking him onto the base, jumping out of the bush:
Done
A shame i entered that picture, it seemed better at the time
