try using polyfilla or similar for a smooth edge to your terrain base, otherwise good first try. I really like the floorboards!

Awesome Autarch

That is great first try! Well done.
I would suggest some spackle to fill in the edges where the cardboard has been cut and the edgs show the corrugation. Also, hardboard is awesome for basing terrain and is not too expensive. You just need a jig saw or somethign similar to cut it.
Well done!

Agree with the comments so far.
I learned on the bunker that I need the wood base for them. You can see how it kind of buckled up in the back. The bunker is cardboard with sheet rock mud covering the hill in the front. I should have used it on the bunker too.
I am working on 2'X2' sections atm. I have made about 6 sections out of cardboard but I am going to start over with some insulation foam. I found that it is only about $8 for a 4X8 sheet at my local mega hardware/lumber store. I am going to try to make each 2X2 section fit each other and be interchangeable so you can move the sections around for a different board each time. The six sections I have already can be moved and repositioned pretty well.

the floor boards are great!
if you are new to terrain, as i am, the easiest and best way to make craters is simply by starting with a small aluminum bowl (about 6" diameter; think family style chinese take-out). Flip it up-side-down and and press downward on the middle of the base. turn it right-side-up again and you'll see the beginning of a great crater. play with it a little, add some flock, spray paint, and wah-la! perfect crater!

Those floorboards are awesome, and the buildings look like a good size to put minis on without them flying everywhere when someone nudges the table. The terrain looks great, though might I suggest picking up some foamcore (it's great stuff) to replace the cardboard and checking out: http://www.terragenesis.co.uk/infopages/page426.html They also have tons of user submitted terrain for you to draw on for inspiration of future projects. 10/10 for your first go

Nuclear: Properly pronounced new-clear, not new-cue-lir. There is no 'u' between the c and l, so stop saying it because it just makes you sound like a dumbass. This includes nucleolus, and all other derivatives of the word.
