What is the point of releasing a demo AFTER the game has been out ages?

Anyone who was any way interested has pirated it by now and decided whether or not they are gonna buy it or not.

We wanted to give those that were unsure about the single player campaign the chance to see what the game is like.

-shrug- I suppose.

Not that it matters a lick of difference. Any game that is locked into a malware program (Steam) is forever denied me, which is a shame because I've heard good things about it, and even played it for a bit at a friends.

Will check it out. Been mostly on the fence about this game, hearing fairly solid things about the single player(one of my friends won't shut up about it, I guess that's got to count for something!), but mostly negative things about the multiplayer, which combined with the short length, makes it sound not totally worth it. However, if the demo proves fun enough, it might be just what's needed to push me over the fence. Still, it would have been nice if it were released before the release of the game.
