If you like to paint, get this model (even if you don't have orks). The sculptor gave it lots of personality and it was probably the most fun I've had painting so far (haven't been at this very long). Looking at the pictures I've noticed a few details I missed but its finished for the most part. Here is my attempt at Snikrot:

Wow! Well done on the paint. He does look like fun. Think I'll take the advice and pick him up tomorrow. (like I don't already have enough things to paint lol). I think he'd be a fun model to paint when I need a break from my chaos in the near future.

I don't see anything missed but maybe you are thinking like me when I finish models. "I should have added an extra step to that highlight". Again, looks geat!

I won this mini at a recent tourney (best peer-voted army comp) and I don't play (NEVER have) orks.

Nice to see what the shiny lunk is supposed to look like.

I'll possibly paint him up with some 'blackout' on as well (streaks perhaps).

Kudos on the skin and light effect.
I frankly don't think like you have been into painting such a short time, really.

Great work.

Wonderful. However, while I'm a fan of the 'cartoony green' Ork skin, it doesn't scream Kommando to me. Maybe darken him down a bit? Some greenstuff leaves maybe?

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I've been painting for about a year and a half, so I have painted for a little while but not as much as most of the guys I play w

Great idea. Sadly I suck at using greenstuff and only use it to fill in gaps

Very good, this is the only ork "character" I haven't even started besdies a basecoat, as I have had no idea how paint him up...

I really enjoy the skin color, do you mind sharing what colors/washes you used?

Very nice. Well painted, the camera I think is not doing the figure justice. Seems it might have split your highlights too much. I wager it looks even better up close and in person.

Here is my color choice for the skin (pretty much what I use for all my orks):

Orkhide Shade
Knarloc Green
Thraka Green Wash
Goblin Green
Rotting Flesh

( I also used some scab red under the rotting flesh highlight on the knuckles and ears)

His skin gives me the pasty 'been fighting in the dark my whole life' kinda feel that Snikrot is supposed to have. It came out great and you have given me some inspiration on what I'm going to do with mine. Was it painted in peaces or put together?

It was painted put together but if I had to do it over again, I'd glue the arms on after painting them. I had to do a lot of uncomfortable painting angles to get detail on the skulls and the blood on both sides of the blades. The backback is going to need quite a bit of green stuff to fill in gaps but if I remember correctly the arms fit pretty well.
