I ended up buying a "naked" chimera (no accessory sprue included) for cheap on ebay. I wanted to get a hellhound out of it, and the above is what grew out of it...

What are the treads? I have a sad Chimera in need of renovating, and those look ace. Nice work on the turret mods, too!

I love the shape of it!

Wouldnt the fuel tank on the turret be very dangerous?

The treads are from a cheapie 1/35 T-34 kit I got on ebay. A lot of tank kits that are on the lower end have rubber treads, and there are even rubber tread kits available by themselves. I think Tamiya makes some.

@ Luna

Of course the tank would be more dangerous there in real life. You're forgetting the chief Warhammer rule, though... If it looks cool, than it works. I mean, look at the FW hellhound with the giant tank on the back.

Very nice, Valhallan42nd! Great use of the Redeemer flamestorm cannon. I did a similar conversion, but used the cannon sideways on a Predator turret. I like how you built up the Chimera turret, though - nice!

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Nice conversion; now paint it!

The built-up turret and the tracks look especially nice, I think I may try this for all my basic chimeras as well, it looks a lot more 'tank' like this way.

Very nice looking tank!

My only suggestion is to put some support under those treads. They look like they're bowing on the top in the middle.

A quick piece of plasticard and you're set!

It could be worse, you could be on fire.

There is a reason they crew Hellhound class tanks with the dregs of the armor division....
