I was wondering how some of the other game system miniatures measure (measurements, not look) against 40k models. My dad and neighbour, both like the look of some other models for their armies, and since they don't tourney i don't personally see a problem. Specifically AT-43 and Warmachine\Hordes where the other game mini's i am refering to. Any help would be appreciated.

Haha Luna useing Shorcha as an example model isn't really a good showing of Warmachine/Horde model size.

She is 28mm semi heroic( my own term to describe this feature; the hands and head are only slightly over sized as compared to true heroic ; that is what warhammer uses).

Warmachine Model's scale are over the maps from Kell Bailock who is a true 28mm to Alexia who might be close to 38mm heroic. The net result is a very large scale swing in the game but on average Warmachine is a 32mm semi heroic scale.

Really The40k fig you have isn't a great one to use , Old Iron Hand there is at least ten years old or more and is much closer to a true 28mm fig than what GW is putting out today.

Reaper figs depend on what line they are in but will normally be 28mm heroic but can be true and I think they have at least one line that is 32mm.

IM not nearly as familar with the AT-43 stuff but looking at the guy you posted would say he is 28mm semi heroic .
If i Remember correctly Confrontation Minis were true 32mm or 35mm but i think it was 32mm, not really sure to be honest.

I can really help if you tell me what Warmachine and Hordes Mini's they are looking at since i Know them backwards and forwards.

Wow, that was alot better than i hoped for, thank you!
P.S. why is that seargeant [edit]poking[edit]* a pikachu?

Narlix - heres a few we were looking at for warmachine\hordes (for sizes just relate them to a 40k model )
The manhunter - khador (the dwarf guy)
greylords ternion
cygnar trenchers
mercenary renegade light warjack

And i'm looking into alternate models to be penal legion, anything you guys would suggest?

*that better?

The man hunter is 25 to 28mm heroic he is actually human
the greylords are 28mm heroic or a true 32mm they look very similar
trenchers are 28mm heroic
the Renegade is 32 mm heroic/true kinda of pointless with a giant robot, but its size wise comparable to a tau crisis suit.

The kazyaza Assassins might make decent penal troops as would the Assault commandos, or the Idrian skrimishers, actually the idrians would make great penal troops and are 32mm heroic maybe true, after 28mm i find telling heroic from true scale hard since everything is larger. I might also look at the cygnar rangers.
