North of you!

So lets say I want a squad of Assault Terminators and go with 3x TH&SS and 2x Lightning Claws (one of the Lightning Claws being Sergeant)

Now this squad has taken 10 wounds with armour saves allowed, would I:

a) roll 6 TH&SS saves and 4 lightning claws saves

or

b) Roll 6 TH&SS saves, 2 Lightning claws saves and 2 Sergeant (with Lightning Claws) Saves

While they are equipped the same they do have different entries in the codex's I own (Blood Angels [i don't think you can own a pdf codex though ]& Dark Angels) Therefore I'm not sure bout vanilla marines but in any case:
Are sergeants equipped the same as some of the Terminators considered the same or different for purposes of wound allocation? Simple enough question.

Thanks for any input

Sgt has a separate profile entry - even if his profile is identical.

For wound allocation, he is a group of 1 model.

In your example. You have 1 group of 3, 1 group of 2 and 1 group of 1.

You allocate 1 each to all first (as no model can have a 2nd wound allocated until ALL have one first). The remaining 4 go where you want.

so you roll (at least) 3 saves for the TH+SS, 2 for the LCs, 1 for the Sgt, and the other 4 as determined by you (you can 'waste' wounds, too. If the 10 wounds are from 9 bolters and a plasma gun, for example, you can allocate the plasma to one of the bolter wounded models, and if he fails the bolter save, the plasma wound is discarded.).

This is how I read it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

No, it only applies to differently equipped models or models with different profiles. The sergeant is identical to a "regular" terminator. Unless his equipment separates him from the others, he's lumped in with all of them for the purposes of wound grouping.

Correct. The wording calls for models that are the same in gaming terms to be rolled in batches. There is no effective difference in the sgt compared to another same-geared terminator.

A different name, is not different enough. If the gear/rules/characteristics are the same... they roll together.
