im having a hard time on listing up an army, im new on mini war-gaming and really in need of an expert advise from you good guys of dakka dakka. i have 1 BSB, a lord wit a great weapon, a damsel on foot and on horseback, 16 bowmen with stakes, 20 men at arms and a pegasus knight. what should work on them? feel free to dismantle em or form em guys. add magic items, weapon, banners, etc. just give me effective examples. how many points can i come up to with these brets? any listings would do fine just let it be easier for me to understand.. thanks guys.. i really appreciate it..

Well, to start with, you should add a unit of knights. I believe that Knights of the Realm are 1+. Right now your characters don't have any unit to run with except disgusting lowlifes...

That's good as an extra knights unit, but if you look at your army book, you'll notice that Knights of the Realm are 1+. So... Knights of the Realm next.

What points value are you shooting for?

In addition to getting some normal knights, I'd advise getting at least couple of extra pegasus knights so you can make a unit of those.

And another character (you'll probs need another paladin)

Generally I would take something like this (probabally 2k or so)
Lord, flail (or magical flail).
BSB, Flail, magic armor (give him the best save you can)
1xpaladin, cheep gear
2xenchantresses (dispell gear and MR1 on your main units.)
Give a couple heroes the +1CR ability.

3-4 small blocks of knights of the realm, full cmd (these guys are your redirectors and harassers).
1 big block (10 or so) of questing knights (for the reroll to fear checks). Two chars go in here.
1 other big block (realm, questing, grail) two chars go in here.
The third char goes wherever he is needed.
These are your hammers. They can destroy most things they charge into, even nurgle blocks (but that could take both units to accomplish).
1 unit o 4-5 pegasis knights (they are so good you should always take them)
bowemen/trebuches to fill out the rest of the points (to whittle down units you are going to charge).
infantry can also be used to fill points, they are cheep.

Brets do well against most oponents. Fear can be annoying and stubborn is your enemy. The worst is undead summoning hoard. The only way to beat them is to throw everything at one unit, kill it in one turn, and hold the rest with something to prevent them from dancing into your combat units. But be careful they are tricky.


In terms of building towards this...
grab some pegasis knights, Get a big block of knights of the realm, possibly two (cause then it is forgiving).
That, added with what you have gives you a fairly easy army to play around with for starters.

Tip: In a 2000 point game you should have at least 3-4 lances of 9 Knights. Using Knight Errants along with Knights of the Realm is a wise move. Why? Because they must charge. You be running into entire armies that cause FEAR, TK, VC, DL, OK along with other armies that will have several fear causing units. The Knight Errant will not be bothered by fear (pass LD check) so you can align them up with fear causers. You'll see.
