Hello everyone.

So I recently got an itch to start making terrain and decided to make some ruins. I will be using foam board. Now i sketched out the lines and stuff and started cutting yesterday. Only problem is box cutters are no good at cutting straight. Now my question is what is a good tool to use for cutting foam board straight? Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks

These work pretty well. Blades are pretty hard to get though, at least where I live. While sharp they do give really nice 90-degree cuts.

Extraordinarily sharp Xacto/craft blades. Every time I start a new project I automatically start a new blade.

At micromark.com they have an adjustable blade holder for X-Acto knife. It is used for cutting planking for wooden ships. The only drawback is that it is used for cutting strips up to 1 inch wide. Also you can use matt cutting tools, the one for used in making inside frames for pictures. matt cutting tools are easy to find at craft stores. and you can adjust the angle of the cut.

A metal ruler (or drywall-T if you're working bigger) against that box cutter or x-acto may help.
