It's been ages since I last played 40K (3rd edition heh) but now I feel it time to start again.
I have an old army; Sisters of Battle but I have lost several models in the last 2 moves that I have done the last few years... >_<
So I wonder should I stick to it and just buy new models for it or start a new army.

Been reading about the different armies in their latest codex and checked up the models (some forge world models are really awesome ).

So currently I'm down to 4 armies to choose from

Chaos Space Marines: (I just love the new nurgle models from Forge World).
Grey Knights: Great models.
Eldar: I like Wraithguards and Wraithlords.
Sisters of Battle: My first 40K army and my only one so far heh. :p

Which army of these four would be more fun to play than the others?
I haven't done any real army list of them yet, just couple of raw lists (1500 points) just to get a more feeling on how I want an army.

Chaos Space Marines
HQ: Typhus
Elite: Chaos Terminators and 2 Dreadnoughts (yes I love dreadnoughts heh)
Troops: Chaos Marines
Heavy: Chaos Havocs, Chaos Predator, Chaos Vindicator

Grey Knights
HQ: Grey Knight Hero with terminator squad
Elite: Grey Knights Terminators
Troops: Grey Knight
Heavy: Grey Knight Purgation Squad, 2 Grey Knight Dreadnoughts

Eldar
HQ: ??
Troops: 3 (2 of them with Wave serpents) Squads with Wraithguards and Spiritseer in them.
Heavy: 2 Wraithlords

Sisters of Battle
Well here I haven't done any raw list.

Any tips and advice is welcome. ^^

My Advice is to go for SoB. They still have Hard As nails lists and are great fun, and rare on the table, so thats always a plus.

Grey Knights are a lot weaker, but also a lot rarer and much more awesome

Eldar have taken a hit in 5th edition, and are not very nice to look at.

Just no to the Chaos Marines

Somewhere.

I'd go for a combined Inquisitional approach. Use your Sisters and add to to them some Grey Knights to see if you like them, and thus minimizing the impact if you don't. I mean, five Grey Knight Terminators will give anyone a bit of an issue...they are nasty. But you pay for it in points. And cash.

Are you looking to be competitive? If so to what degree? I would stay SoB just because you have the models already. Don't mix'n'match with the inquisition blended with SM or IG. Just don't do it. I personally like SoB models compared to the others as well.

You can't have wraithguard as troops with wave serpents - troop wraithguard have to be 10 strong, but you have to have 5 or fewer to have a wave serpent, so you woud have to take them as elites for the serpent.

If you want competitive, don't take that Chaos List. That's going to perform really, really badly for you.

Play Chaos Marines, because they are the sexiest of those four choices.

But don't play that list. You will never win.

Ah okay but is it wrong to have them 5 strong (including Spiritseer) with a Wave serpent?

Care to enlighten me little more on why it would go badly for me with that list? (It's been ages since I last played)
Feel free to point out what can be done better and so on.

I would do a Nurgle army from FW, definitely sexy (in a weird, corrupted, diseased kind of way!). I was going to do it but started renegade IG instead. Don't go for Typhus though, use the beautiful Nurgles Sorcerer or the Daemon Prince with tri-barrelled gunge cannon.

Part of me says stay with the SOB. They do still kick people in the rear.
Part of me says, go with what you want. If you like one army over another just cause, then go for it. Youll enjoy playing alot more that way.

I'd say go for sisters - not many people play them because of cost, but if you're already GOT an army you've got a huge advantage.

The wraitguard Eldar army is fun, but you might want to speak to Panic about some tips - it's taken him a while to get his Ghost Warrior army competitive in 5th.

I would say go with the SoBs since you have them and pick up two of the Death Guard upgrades from FW along with the Sorcerer, that way when you get two CSM Squads to upgrade you have the compulsory choices done and can build from there, maybe Typhus and some DG Termies later...
