I have heard of a love story between a vindicare assasin and a farseer, yet there doesn't seem to be much other solid stuff.

Please tell me any stories you have heard of, or even situations where there could be the possibility of a romance in 40k.

Also I don't want people to make 101 references to slaneesh. Slaneesh is more about sex than love.

I have not heard of any being published in the fluff, though i'm sure there are a fair number in fandom. This comes as much from what we reading about as it does from the nature of the fluff its self. The stories that make it in to the codex are the war-stories of the 41st millenium, not the romance novels of the 41st millenium.

Harlequin novel i believe has a love story.

There is no love story in fluff though , can you imagine the rage from warhammer players if they see a happy ending to someone else ? Only grim dark allowed.

There are some. Ciaphas Cain and Inquisitor Amberley have something going for those that've read the Cain books.

Yeeeahhh, but somewhere out there...(over the rainbow?) there got a to be a little bit of love. After all guardsmen aren't produced in factories (yet).

I don't know, mabye a forbidden love story between an SoB and...I don't know, Guardsmen.

Well you've got to remember - It IS a tabletop strategy game. The fluff focuses around the endless wars and battles rather than the individual human element of things. But that isn't to say there isn't romance. It's just far and few between that it's mentioned. And often romance only plays a minor roll in most novels. If you gotta have it though, as I said the Cain books have a smidge, and the Gaunt's Ghosts books have a few here and there in some of them. Mostly those are just Gaunt being a man-whore though

In the Straight Silver Gaunts Ghosts book Gaunt slept with a female adjunct.

The only time I can recall Gaunt sleeping with anyone was in Necropolis.

Besides, i wanted this thread to concentrate more on romance, like the relationship between the Troopers Caffran and Criid, than just sex.

hey give the guy a break, he is a Colonel AND a Commissar. Imagine how Stressful that gets, having to order around people AND execute them!

There isn't a long answer, really. Just no.

As for Gaunt, there was the daughter of that one guy, then there was the PDF Major from Traitor General, also they imply that he has the Hots for Ana Curth and she for him, Romantic Sub-Plot in Traitor General.

Then there is Caff and Criid, and Rawne and Jessi Banda, Meryn and Banda, Larks and Bragg, Gaunt and Mkoll, Mkoll and his wife, Gaunt and Lilith, Gaunt and Rawne...

Then in Double Eagle, the bomber pilot and the waitress, the female pilot and everyone.

Then in Brothers of the Snake, the main Marine and the one legislator chick.

Eisenhorn and Bequin, Eisenhorn and the one Doctor Chick.

Hell just read a Dan Abnett book.

Yeah that's why I mentioned something about reading Abnett books for 40k loves stories, usually they are a sub plot. Or sub plot to a sub plot in the case of Caff and Criid.

Really, it is.
But when I said possible love stories I was kind of reffering to 40k in general. You CAN make the scenario up if you want to. Don't limit yourself to just one author like Dan Abnett (blessed be his name).
