I like this forum, however i always notice that someone often more than one has always a critisicm (spl?) about every list posted - has there ever been a list posted where people have actually said "well ... umm..... yep, you got everything covered there"

It's really good for pll to post and have feedback about there armies - its just i have never seen a perfect one, maybe thats a good thing - you tell me ..........

but the cliff, the sea!! your lust will hold you up - Ride!! Take on the outer form of the Duke - Change! Transfrom!

I wish there was.

The only armies I know of are Daemons. Almost any list can be written that can't be competitive

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

it's impossible for a list to be perfect. for it to be perfect, it would have to have an infinite number of every unit/item in the codex

a list may be perfect against a particular foe or style of list, but insufficient against another. It's the nature of rock paper scissors games like ours.

HEY AGAIN!

It's funny in 40k there isn't a best. But in fantasy there is! It's Chaos Daemons, by a lot!

I'm sure the Thirster/pink horror/flamer/fleshhound list is as close as they get, but there are still ways to beat it. They're just very difficult, or involve building your list 100% towards defeating it.

I meant this to go in the 40k post but as its here enjoy yourselfs (there may be a few people from america - please forgive them for their intellect)

Perfect list - there isn't one, but there must be something close??

Specifically the LD bomb army.

whats the LD bomb army?

On the perfumed wind

Standard of -2 Ld and the Masque. I've seen it with a Keeper of Secrets (goes great with Torment Blade and the other LD check to hit) but it may be usable with something else.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

I was trying to find the thread elsewhere that had the list and the bat reps to go with it, but I haven't been able to find it. If anyone has it link it here. I was thinking of building that army. Just for the Lulz though.

OF course there are perfect lists.... even single one I make is perfect.

And seriously??? Daemons???? You guys think daemons are the best army???? Have you played skaven lately? Grey Seer, 3 Engineers, 7 ratling guns, and 2 warplightning cannons completely ruin a daemons, or any one elses, day.

Are you questioning others intellect because you lacked the intellect to place your post in the right forum?

I've fought that list with my daemons and totaled it...mostly with nurglings

I wouldn't say there is a perfect list as nothing is perfect, but there are optimal lists

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
Adepticon 2011- Combat Patrol Best General

I've also seen a lone imperial guardmen kill a bloodthirster in close combat... what's your point? :-P

Hilariously every model you listed in that cheddarfest skaven list has a decent chance of killing itself without the other guy rolling a die

OT, demons are probably the most auto-win army out there, with the ItP, the fear, the ward saves, the (in)stability and the distinct lack of stuff-you-depend-on-but-it-can-kill-itself. When I think about warhammer armies though I tend to ignore demons as an unfortunate but thankfully distant Tier 0, so a 'perfect army' to me would be most likely a Dark Elf list. That book is so much better built than the others (besides vamps), and even merely good DE armies are frightening affairs, without relying upon mass ward saves and effective-unbreakability.

Salvage, you do have a point there. A DE list did win the GT methinks, beating a plethora of Daemon Armies.

60-70 rxbs, offensive magic and a couple of rbts with a Hydra for counterpunch and you've got your anti-Daemon list. Too bad that even that only gets you to 50% win rate against a good player unless the table has absolutely no terrain.

In ur gaem, killin ur doodz.

The perfect army?

--Any list you build that you enjoy playing.

An unbeatable list,

--No such thing

A perfect list that will win more often than its fair share if the owner of the list is a point-n-click player

--yes, but only if he's playing against another player who blindly pushes his models forward into combat. Against a superior player, the Point and click player will just about always lose

A list that will win more than its fair share when a good player is playing another good player.

this is the problem: how do you define good? Winning a GT isn't really indicative of being a good player, sure some good players show up, but anybody with $70 can buy a ticket.
Once it's all said and done, I'm inclined to say no. I think that tactical ploys, strategies, and loss limitations will all stack in front of "power of the list, blaaarg" in fact, I would be willing to put *gulp* luck *gulp* in front of power of a list.
