I think you've already got a plastic hydra waiting in the wings...
The Aegis Defense Line includes a quad cannon that looks suspiciously like it might just mount up on a Chimera chassis.

AFAIK, no that kit will not be being released then. I believe GW's ... "thinking".. is that there is a model ( allbeit FW) available so it's not an immediate priority.
And, yeah, the whole ADL quad option too.

If that is the case then why is the new LR kit slated for August supposed to include options for making turrets for Executioners? forgeworld makes a couple of different Executioner turrets.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

Yeah I've been looking at those quad guns, the thing is I'm not too thrilled what I hear about Planet Strike and the Jersey Barrier kit doesn't thrill me.
I was hoping the quad gun would be turned into a hydra early so I don't kit bash something that will come out on its own.

Unfortunately, KK, I think there are a lot of folks that are going to be like-minded about scavenging ADLs for Hydras, so any bitz kits from the Jersey Barrier kit you might find online will probably run you nearly as much as a FW kit because gougers will know they can get nearly that much for them.

I like the way Flinty made his Hydras using Old Crow components with SM Predator sponsons. He used Rhino chassis but you could use Chimera chassis instead. It would take a bit more work.
If GW is going to take a long time making their version, I may follow Flinty's lead.
