Okay, so just as GW discontinues Brazen Brass, I decide it makes a perfect color for the metally trim on my BFG fleet. I realize it wasn't exactly the most popular color, but IMO it looks freaking sweet with blues and blacks.

Is there a substitute in any of the other lines, or do I just need to stretch what I've got?

I dunno...

I don't know, but I wanted to say that the name 'Brazen Brass' anooys me as it's like calling a paint 'Golden Gold' or 'Sivery Silver'

I am sure Vallejo will have a substitute you could use.

I have found that though it is a bit brighter, Privateer Press Brass Balls is a pretty good substitute. Also, you caaan find Brazen Brass online, but it's a little more expensive.

@P4NC4K3:
It's a play on words. Brazen can also mean defiance or shameless impudence. As in "The brazen space marines fought the Khorne Berzerkers, but got their asses kicked anyways"

I can vouch for a craft paint brand called Americana. I buy them at hobby lobby, Im sure any craft store sells them. The paints are very crisp looking and go on very well. They sell probably 10 different metallic type paints. Im sure 2 or 3 of them are in the brass color your looking for. Best of all they are $1 per tube.

For Inks, just get the Coat D'arms inks. They are the same manufactureer as the original GW inks.

Lies and heresies! We all know that each pot of paint is hand mixed by Jervis himself. How else could the price be justified?

Oh wait, GW...

"Note"
Vallejo paints are not for everyone, the high concentration of pigment makes the colors particularly strong when placed next to GW colors. I am sure entire schemes of Vallejo work, but GW paints seem to end up looking cartoony and cloudy next to Valljeos intenser colors. Vallejo does have some of the nicest metallic colors on the market IMHO though.

Excuse me but I have to go have my soupy soup now...

I have found the american paints to be very grainy, thick, and hard to thin to any consistency. Although I will admit if your not looking for something that is a paint champ winner it is an inexpensive way to get by. They do have a brass that was similar to the brazen brass that GW had that I still ocasionally use to dry brush with (this paint is great at that for some reason). Problem is the label came off long ago heheh.

Aye I went to Vallejo Game color because they are the clones of the GW paints and still carry color that are no longer available like brass (brassy brass is what you want) and other choice colors. I've used the GW and vallejo GC side by side and have seen no difference. The VGC is much nicer to paint with I must say. And cheaper. $2.60 for 17ml VS gw 12ml and dropper bottles own.

If your hell bent on using GW paint try mixing bestial brown and shining gold. Its a little darker but other then that pretty much the same.
