Well Dakka, I've got a problem.

My neck hurts, specifically the left side of it. It hurts when I turn left.

How can I cure this?

go to the docter.

This reminds me of the time when I was twelve and was in the Philippines and thought I heard a ghost.

It must have been something like 5am... maybe 6am... But I didn't know that. All I know was that I woke up to what, I thought, sounded like a child crying. The night before, my cousins were talking about the ghost of a child that was haunting one of their houses and so I was thinking that this might be that ghost. I freaked out. My head was turned to one side and I refused to turn it so that I would be comfortably facing up because I felt if I moved I would catch a glimpse of the ghost. So I laid there with my head turned to one side facing one of the windows for the longest time... I eventually saw the sun rise. I heard my grandmother wake up and felt a little braver so I turned my head. IT HURT LIKE A MOTHER!

So anyway... I see grandma get up and I'm wondering if she hears the 'ghost' too... And she does... only its not a ghost like I thought... it turned out to be a rooster or some other bird making morning noises.

So for a week I couldn't turn my neck one way because of this... lol...

Turn right then.

Just keep turning your neck. It'll hurt, but your body will quickly get used to it. It's what I do when I have a sore limb.

Did you wake up with it?
Is your neck stiff?
Is it sore all the time but worse when you turn, forcing you to lock your head in position and turn your entire body to see what is happening to your left.

Without examination and the full story I'd go with acute torticollis.

If so it will be dramatically reduced withing 36 hours and gone within 72 hours.
