My bestigors for my (very slowly) growing 500 point warband.

Everyone together.

The basic RaF bestigor with great axe.

The 2nd rank with great axes and a dire mace.

Front rank bestigor with huge warhammer.

The unit leader.

The unit musician.

I need to fix a couple of details but I think they're ready to paint. Now I just have to wait for a break in the rainy season so I can prime without making them fuzzy.

Great stuff I'm considering doing something similiar myself. How'd you make the musician's horn and where'd the champions flagon come from?

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Nice looking.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Thanks guys!

Llamahead - The horn is just two regular horns filed down and glued together at their narrow ends, then pinned back to the musician's arm. I just wrapped it in green stuff to hide the join. The amphorae are made out of two sections of plastic rod (3mm glued into a 5mm) and then filed in a kind of rolling gesture to smooth out. Once I had the jug body, I drilled a hole through the top and ran a bit of wire through it to make the basic handle shape, and then used green stuff (the brand I use is actually white) to fill out the handle.

xcom85 - Yes, all the weapons (except for the dire mace) are plasticard. The axes ended up being the easiest part of the project. They're pretty much just a rod handle with a plasticard blade and two 1mm rod bolts where they join.

dirkthe1 - You can see my finished ungors on my gallery page. They're pretty bog standard. I want to create the idea that the elite elements of the army are part of something like a Bacchus cult and the other guys in the army are just being dragged along for the ride. If I increase the size from warband to army though I may add a couple of amphorae to the gor and ungor unit(s).

Cheers thanks a lot I may well try the horn idea! The basic conversion is a warrior of chaos torso with plastic gor legs I take it?

The final result looks great, it fits very good, but isn't it a bit expensive? 2 plastic kits to make 1 mini

Llamahead - Exactly. By far the most time-consuming part of the conversion was filing the Chaos warrior torso and Gor legs down to play nicely together.

Erasoketa - Thanks! It's a bit more expensive, but considering that the metal bestigors are SMALLER than the plastic gors, I thought something had to be done. I'd seen the conversion on here a few times and always thought it looked nice, and since I'm not going for a big army I figured I'd try it.
