Hi Dakka folks,
I recently bought two boxes of Banshees and I'm no cleaning my girls. Doing that it struck me that they have belly buttons on their armor.

On their armor.

Belly buttons.

Huh?

Do you guys know any other models with such design "flaws" which are just strange and/or don't make any sense at all?

HBs have always had belly buttons on their armour, the little strumpets.

As for design flaws, I really don't like the beard on the Gold Wizard's mask in the Empire Plastic Wizard set. It doesn't work for me.

Any Purity Seal that seems to defy the laws of gravity and/or physics.

Orks with nipples. Considering they don't have females or suckle their young (since they pop out of the ground, fully grown). I'd say it's a bit strange.

Power-armored corsets. Think about that for a second, power-armored CORSETS. Despite the fact that any armor would show a female as being flat-chested..... no, I think that about sums it up.

Also, in an army full of moobs and exposed nipples, why is almost the only ogre model wearing a chest covering that isn't armor a female? Says a bit about our culture, eh?

The space marine Vets box set from the previous edition (the apocalypse version, 5 man) which contained a plethora of options you could'nt take, aside from that i'd cite the gorilla armed catachans.

The Krieg command squad where all models have carapace armour. Granted, the current Guard codex allows for carapace but FW has its moments..

The Ork Weirdboy has always slightly bothered me due to the presence of the grot hanging off of him that's holding onto the chain.

Despite my, rather limited, grasp of basic physics - I just can't figure out that angle on the chain.

The Huron Blackheart model. The dude's head looks like a half-peeled patato that was about to be turned into french fries but the resturant ran out of funding for god sakes. And that claw thingy. In real life it would be like ten-trillion miles long!

Ditto! I'm actually planning on converting that model (I already own it) just to fix that weird chain.

I have a problem with this model as well, but to be honest I am very lazy with my Orks and just went with it.

It doesnt make a lick of sense though.

the way the jump pack chappy and the rule with cover really screws with this model.

Heck, any 40K vehicle! Like two maybe three Orks fit in a Trukk (four or five in a Battlewagon). Of course, if these vehicles were actually to scale, we would have a lot less room on the table.

I think the Idea was that the chain was being wazzed around with by the wierdboy that the grot was trying to restrain. as for the krieg command squad, was there not special rules in vraks regarding krieg commands and carapace(I'm reaching back a few games days to when I leafed through the book so I could just be making this up). Back on topic, anyone else notice that the new empire character on horse's horse looks to be falling over backwards ?

Those Lizardmen Saurus Cavalry mounts on the other hand: Dur, dur dur dur, dur! Fugly-ness fer. Maybe this will sum it up better. The Saurus Cavalry mount inspiration.

Yeah Marius thats the one, the angles on the legs are just plain wrong, makes the horse look like its falling/about to sit down, asis that dagger he's holding come to think of it. Totally agree on the saurus cav, also you noticed how the riders on the ned terradons dont look like they are actually riding the beast, more just balancing on top?

Yeah they do!

Marius, though, looks okay to me. I was raised around horses so it looks fairly natural to me (if not terribly heroic) but you 'see' the weirdboy so I guess we're even.

Some of the Eldar Warlocks make me wary of buying them at all, I think you have no option in which poses you get.

Frankly, the Farseer just looks much to cool to be assisted by these midget-like Warlocks. Personal taste really, but I really think they are out of scale, and own a few extra pounds from all the tacos and cheeseburgers they have eaten.

I like all the Eldar units (mostly) so I play them on tabletop, but I can't get over how weird they look sometimes. I just have to say it, they have really big heads or something. Perhaps it is just the helmets that bug me, so I tend to make them look a bit sunken in, to keep a bit of realism here and there.

I own only Eldar, and am not a huge fan of anything else in all honesty.

No road wheels= no suspension.

HUGE cannons mounted in turrets too small to even house a firing system- let alone reloading equipment. And the turret has the ONLY crew access hatch. Dumb.

And any female figs GW has done, except maybe the female DE warrior and Eldar Guardian torsos...theyre not too over done...

Aren't there the side hatches?

What other fem figs has GW done? (Apart from random chick in last chancers)

I think Lucias the Eternal looks just BAD. mainly its his face, and the whip arm.
And the new vulcan, my god, a physics professor cant explain how the cloaks/purity seals can do the magic that they do. And whats up with the flame on top!? That just looks awful

The escher gang for necromunda are pretty good female minis. As for vulcan, yeah it has its flaws but I like it.
