Yes, I read it when it came out and really liked it. I don't remember the character names exactly but I loved the plot line involving the tank commander. The idea of these massive tanks having to hunt down enemy war-hounds was fascinating. I thought the scene where the entire tank company gets ambushed and destroyed by the Warhound (s?) was excellent writing. Have you read Double Eagle? I think Abnett does a great job of exploring topics away from the normal guard/SM/Inquisitor subjects that fill 90% of the Black Library-though he has written a lot on each of those topics

I have read it and I thought it was a pretty awesome book. However, it does seem to have the recurring 40K plot line of one of the 'good' guys going dark. And that reall pisses me off because so many of the 40K books have that. Why can't they leave the good guys good and the bad ones bad once in a while. Other than that it was epic.

The Space Wolves novels did a pretty good job of the "good guys" staying good throughout (the first three anyways). Outside of that I am kinda stumped myself on other BL novels without at least one guy going off the reservation.
