Got a tournament next weekend and thinking of some possible khornate lists.

Wondering how people think this will fare? I realise i am /crying if I play Sallies or Tau but O well...

Abaddon
Kharne

8 Berserkers, Fist
8 Berserkers, Fist
8 Berserkers, Fist

LR - DP & Dozer
LR - DP & Dozer
LR - DP & Dozer

I really want to try abaddon as I have painted a cool khorney variant of him up...

Is this list doomed? Never tried triple LR .

Some points:
With fearless creatures, charging all 3 units and interconnecting them into a multiple combat(if possible which it usually is) should be able to take 2-3 big units down due to the fearless saves
Assault terminators should die to a combined charge of 2 units
Low unit number but screening landraiders help a lot with this
The whole concept of this army is to all assault at the same time... No units on their own as they will just get ganked. I would imagine a turn 2/3 all out assault depending on setup/opponent

Apart from heavy AT tau/eldar lists, does anyone see any massive weaknesses?

Thanks in advance

Well, its a gamble.
Landraiders should last long these days.
But there are units out there in the 40k universe that can come close to the Landraider in no time; like deep striking Termies with combi-meltas, drop podded Sternguard Veterans with combi-meltas, IG Veterans with meltas in Valkyries.

Yup... That's kinda my bugbear with it.

I think it will either table the opponent or get tabled.

If I get 1st turn it should work ok... Otherwise it will hurt.

My other consideration was having 5 units of zerkers in rhinos with twin princes. Though that means I can't use abaddon which is kinda the whole focus of this list

Well, the Rhino variant has more redundancy and less expensive units (tanks).
You could let Abaddon deep strike with a unit of Terminators. But this is also risky as there are many plasma weapons out there.

Yup...

Other possible option is 2x LR zzerkers with Abaddon and Kharne and 2x Rhino zerkers.

I just dont think this will work quite as well though as anything that cant touch the LRs can probably eat the rhinos.

Rhinos are quite resilient these days.
Think about a penetrating hit vs. Rhino or Landraider.
Both penetrating rolls of D6 have the same probability to pop either tank.

I really like the list. But as you said, there are some things that can just shut it down. its definatly fn though. One thing to consider, is taking winged daemon princes and hiding them behind your LRs instead of putting ICs in them. But this still looks really good in terms of laying down some hurt.

Aside from rail gun Tau and eldar there are a few lists tht I think you would struggle against. I know from experience.

One, is mech gaurd. Tons of little shooty units in chimeras, and the second you hop out to assault stuff, you will get gunned down. Its not fun. Its not an impossible match up, but you have to go in thinking.

Another, is Nidzilla. not every Nidzilla list will throw you off but there is something Nidzilla can do that is AMAZINGLY annoying. I played a Nid guy once deployed almost all of his MCs on the third floor of ruins, making them piratically un assault able. At this point, you only option is to shoot.

Just a few things to watch out for, hope this helps.

Hey man im running a very similar list with the 3 LR and the Zerkers. It works great if you keep your LR moving at 12"most of the time. This list doesnt allow for to many Kill Points and the Zerkers kick the gak out of most things in CC. Keeping the LR moving at full speed makes the damn near impossible to kill when it comes to anything trying to assault it.

There is a pretty awesome way around dedicated transports and freeing up a heavy slot. Take a small squad of termies (3) and give them a dedicated LR. When you deploy, deploy the dedicated LR empty with your zerker unit ready to jump in on turn 1. Make sure the zerkers are in cover and behind your other LR becasue their really vulnerable to shooting. Keep your Termies in reserve for deepstrike. This allows you to free up a heavy slot =).

I run the above description and add in a defiler with the 3x LR. Its an awesome build and very fun to play. Just a thought.

Ok, so tried this out against an experienced 40k player using orks for the first time so, while he knows the game very well, he wasn't 100% with the army.

It did ok but the model count is VERY low. Also, assaulting multiple units is far more complicated and skilled than I previously thought.

I'm debating whether 2 LRs + 2 troops in rhinos (1 set of 8 zerkers and 1 set of 9 PMs with either plas or meltas ) would do a little better. Any suggestions on this? I could even fit a vindi or defiler in if I make the squads smaller though I think squad size is important for this.

Another option if I stuck with 3 LRs is to replace 1 squad of berserkers with plague marines.

Any suggestions on any of this?

I have pretty much finished my 3rd landraider thought so still tempted to try the LR list.

The model count will kill you and you'll suck at objectives. 'zerks have no more protection than a regular CSM, and you lack anywhere near a realistic amount of anti-tank. You can't just ignore the shooting phase and expect to do anything.

I own 3 armies and each would cripple you 1st turn most games.

Thos land raiders go down and you are running across the board. Not a good situation.

It might be a fun army. But why would you run something like that in a tournament. It's not balanced at all. You might absolutely creme 1 or 2 armies but then have no answer to the 10 others that show up who will absolutely creme you.
