I've been going through the MotF lists with 3 Dreadnoughts, 3 Dakkapreds and 3 Speeders and a unit of Scouts, and although they are nice enough to play with I've been pondering about the best way to fit Vulkan He'stan into the list. The way I see it, transporting him is a huge problem. I don't like leaving 5 Space Marines with a non-twin linked heavy weapon standing around somewhere just so that Vulkan can drive around with 5 Tactical Marines. Neither do I like the idea of buying a Razorback with just five guys because they don't get any of the free special or heavy weapons that way and become quite expensive, although it seems like the best option to me (5 Marines, PF or combi weapon, Razorback).
So the things on my mind with this list are obvious. The Land Raider is such an eggbasket that does it make the entire army completely on/off and therefore not good for tournament play? Should I just take the 3 MM Dreadnoughts, toss Vulkan in a Rhino with a flamer dude and leave a PC combat squad outside to camp the home zone? Are twenty Tactical Marines enough scoring models at 1500 points or do I need a third small squad of Marines or Scouts, or a large squad? It would again mean the loss of atleast one Dreadnought.
Cheers.
