I don't know if I should try to drop some stuff (what!) to squeeze a land raider with th/ss termies in or not.

try taking a redeemer it would be perfect for a vulkan list

I am debating, but 1 landraider in today's metagame is a very questionable addition. I am looking at how to work it in, but it would mean losing a good deal of my melta-multimelta power.

I really like this list, but what do you plan to do with Vulkan himself?

Not especially. Flamestorm cannons don't benefit from He'Stan's special rule.

No, it specifically states flamers and heavy flamers, not flame template weapons.

That being said, it is still great without twin-linking.

It does not benefit from his special rule but it sucks anyway compared to a crusader.

I like your list run a similar list myself but without vulkan cause i didnt know where to put him, so my question is where will you put him ?

I dont what it the big apeal of the bloody Crusader, its got 6 bolters on the side, and an assault cannon, and can have 8 models, id rather have redeemer anyday.

I think the point is that it can reliably shoot with both sets of hurricane bolters on targets each turn, whereas the Redeemer usually does nothing, or sometimes is right up against the enemy and can put one template down.

A redeemer is to easy to avoid it has a very limited range and if it gets immobilized it cant do gak.

At 1750 you do not need 3 tac squads. Melta bombs on tac squads are a waste. IMO you don't need more then 2 full tac squads until you are playing more then 2000 point games.

TH/SS terminators are great, but to put them in a redeemer or crusader would sink up at least 440 points (more like 465 or 475). This would involve rebuilding your list from scratch.

Why do you have melta guns in all the tac squads, do you expect to get your tac squads within 6" of vehicles or 12" of infantry that has a 2+ armor save? Bad tactics in my book. Tac squads in a Vulkan list should have Multi Meltas for range, flamers for up close, unless you run in an entirely mech meta game.

How do you dreads get in multi melta range? Walking? A fast/smart oppenent will always be out of melta range with them.

I think Multi Melta attack bikes are a much better buy then Land speeders.

Here is a list I might be more apt to run:

Vulkan
3 dreads with MM/HF in drop pods
2 tac squads with flamers/MM in Rhinos
2 Land speeders with MM/HF
6 Attack bikes (2 squads of 3) with Multi Meltas
3 Preds with AC & Heavy Bolters

You now have 3 dreads with a bit better mobility, went from 10 Multi Meltas to 13, and still have plenty of dakka. I'm still not sure where to put Vulkan as rhinos only hold 10, maybe upgrade one rhino to a razorback with the 5 remaining points.

I think you'd be better served with Lascannons sponsons over heavy bolters on your preds.

I'm going to disagree with asugradina there. I recommend something more than 2 tacys @ 1500+ (another tacy/scout squad) due to objective based mission being more common.

Your original list is mostly ok fine.

I agree though that the tacys want flamers not meltaguns. The dreads look to me to be the soft spot in your list because of how slow they are. The rest is relatively mobile save the dreads. Fixing the dreads mobility/getting rid of them and changing the meltaguns to flamers should be your focus IMO. Maybe -3 dreads, -1 pred, +1 LRC with TH+SS Terminators?

The preds will most likely be sitting still, and you will always need a couple of long range "pew pew's". Read some of the battle reports by bigmact68, khornatedemon and Somnicide about Vulkan lists and see that they even agree Lascannons end up being more useful than heavy bolters in that list.

I have never run out of scoring units when I combat squad 2 tac squads at 2000 points. The list I won the 'ard Boys qualifier I was at only had 2 tac squads and a 5 man scout squad. People tend to overestimate the need for scoring units. You really only need to hold on to one objective and contest all others unless you are playing a specific mission in which you must hold on to all objectives. Buy more units to kill troops, don't buy more troops that just take up points and do little.

I like your Vulkan army a lot. It's almost the same as mine.

I run 1 less speeder and pred and have a LRC in mine but otherwise almost identical.

I replace a dakka predator with a LRC. And add the 10 point pintle mounted melta. I also drop a speeder. But my army is at 1850.

Here is my 1850 Vulkan list.

Vulkan
3 dread MM/HF
3 speeder MM/HF
3 tac MM/flamer rhino (one sarg has a combi melta cuz i had 10 extra points and a combi melta bit)
2 predator AC/HB + storm bolters (had extra points and bought the storm bolters)
LRC with MM

I like the list a lot. I plan on buying a squad of TH/SS termies soon and trying them in the LRC soon. But for now I combat squad some tacs and make it a scoring LRC.
